  • I think the old one was too much like an organised event in a big open space and used massive tables. It was too well lit and had no atmosphere at all.  The word fanzone is a bit of a misnomer re

Seems like a good time to have a load of people grouped together in an enclosed and unventilated indoor space

To read the full thing sounds like a lot of effort, so thanks for doing it for me.

I just hope there's summat decent to sup

It can’t be any worse than the current situation trying to get a drink and I suppose it’s money in the clubs pocket not independent pubs.

Exactly.

Bring it on!

The one at Wycombe worked a treat - it helped that it was about 25c like.

Fanzone for the riff-raff. Hotel Reflections for the superfans.

RiffRaff ‘R’ Us.

Like i said, bring it on.

I’m not a fan of having a beer or 2 in the ground before a home game, but there aren’t many other options at the moment.

“It doesn’t make commercial sense for us to use the Premier Suite. We are better off running events in there on a Saturday evening, which we do with dinners, boxing, whatever else.

“The Fan Zone will be outdoor, on the outer area between the stadium and Bolton Central, straddling a little bit of the stadium itself.

“Hopefully it will be a combination of some permanent structures in a quality marquee or gazebo format, with some pop-up stuff and it will provide some entertainment for kids and young people, some community stuff, and hopefully provide a good F&B (food and beverage) offering as well.

Hopefully they don't play the music as loud as they did on Families Day...

The hotel must be lowering their standards these days

Top boy doesn't advertise his movements. Always a few steps in front of the OB.

At least it gives you options and should be able to get a pint at least.  The home match experience has been a ball ache so far.

Not the Griffin then.

Ha no not the Griffin, i don’t think i ever went in there when we were at Burnden, there were plenty of better options back then.

If this goes ahead I'm going to have to rethink my status as bus wanker.

Me getting there at 2;30 is not going to benefit Fanzone or me, and me going in the car is even worse. I'll check the train times.

I just drive to the match and have a couple at the ground these days.

Getting pissed at home games is sooooo 2007 😁

Beers on undies tomorrow
