Johnnyrotten Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 With two games most week I imagine anyone not selected one game will be told to rest up and get themselves ready for the next one on Tuesday, I bet not many will be left out of the squad for consecutive games. And anyway we're talking as if we won't get injuries and suspensions, as we know to our cost the size of the squad and the number of players available on a given day are two different things! Quote
Traf Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Loads of games in quick succession plus possible future injuries and suspensions. Everyone will get plenty of game time. Quote
onefinfrandsen Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 IE mentioned after the match that the injury to rico has improved slightly and he could be looking at missing just 3 games, fingers crossed. Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Evatt reporting one or two more potential injury absences We've had no luck whatsoever Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Won't be on the bench whoever it is! Quote

TrickyTrotter Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Didn't realise Coleman is only 28, looks 10 years older. Not played 100 games in his career but has looked OK in Pizza games. Not as comfortable with the ball at his feet as Baxter 😰 Quote
desperado Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Not following this. @Traf have you heard its Baxter who's injured? Quote

desperado Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Lot's of guessing (largely incorrect) about our "injured" players yesterday. Anyone heard any confirmation of who the further injury concerns were? Quote
Casino Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Im convinced one of our injured players started last night It was always said that he would play if it wouldnt make it worse Truth will out, hopefully after we go up Quote
masi 51 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Evatt has said he had concerns about Baxter hence Coleman being on the bench, Bod, Ashworth and Ramsey have played too many mins in a short space and Data indicated they needed resting. Quote

Baxter makes perfect sense, though let's not revisit the 'always have a keeper on the bench' discussion. How has Bod 'played too many minutes' ? Same goes for Ramsay, though accepted I've no idea what he'd been up to at Liverpool ? tbh, Ashworth too. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Ramsey was in Scotland wasn't he? Bod's minutes don't seem high, but if the data was showing something then it makes sense. Same with Ashworth. Quote

Bod's minutes don't seem high, but if the data was showing something then it makes sense. Same with Ashworth. Ramsey played 68 minutes across 3 pre-season friendlies for Preston before being out injured until late November. Came on as a half-time sub in PNE's last game of November and then played 86 mins of the following game. That's his full season before coming to us and he's played 84 mins for us across 2 games. Bodvarsson has played 1200 minutes all season, a third of all minutes available. Edited February 7, 2024 by Traf Quote
bromers Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 (edited) The exact quotes from IE, on Ramsay and Ashworth: “With Calvin Ramsay and Zac Ashworth both returning from injuries and having played quite a bit of football over the last few weeks, there was a red flag on the data to say ‘be careful’. We decided to rotate them." Clearly Ramsay still has a way top go before getting back to full match fitness considering he hasn't played regular football for over 18 months. On Jerome being on the bench ahead of Bod: “And because of the keeper I couldn’t have my three strikers on the bench. We felt with the conditions that we’d need to go with the other two – Jon understands it, he’s a team player, it could be different on Saturday at Northampton but it is very much a case of rotating depending on the opponent.” Edited February 7, 2024 by bromers . masi 51 Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Portsmouth have been hit with another three season ending injuries including Joe Morrell, and new signing Tom Mcintyre Who they signed last week from Reading and who we was linked with. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Bloody hell, not just us then! Feel for them, but we've got to be professional and try to capitalise on any advantage we may have. Quote
