booked accom for New year in Cape Town 2026/27 last night for me, wife and the youngest lad.

Know a few who have been off here, so any info would be appreciated.

Hopefully you’ve booked your accommodation in the tourist area. ie V&A Waterfront/ Camps Bay. Amazing city but really dodgy in the city centre where we stayed. Travel by taxi everywhere outside of the tourist area, they are cheap enough.  The area around the ground is safe also. Fantastic location for a cricket ground with amazing views of Table Mountain. If you get the chance, climb it. I did it but I won’t be doing it again! Glad I did though😊

Not sure how long you are there for but after the cricket, if you get the chance, go on a wine tasting tour. We went to the Franschhoek region. Superb.

Enjoy.👍

With it not being safe, presumably the authorities will ban home supporters from attending...

I won’t go into detail but I believe that during the Football World Cup in 2010, they cleared all the streets of the city of ‘undesirables’.
They didn’t do it for a Test match against England in 2020.

I thought I read once that they never leave the UK.

Anyway, once of my mates sets off over the weekend, he's doing every test (day 1 and day 3) - then travelling back via plenty of interesting places, he won't be back until mid-February. I'm a tad envious.

Are you there for the lot as well?

Yep. The original urn never leaves Lords. The glass trophy was first introduced in the late 90’s.
Doing the last three, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. A few off here (not regular posters) are doing the same, some, more.

Never fancied OZ. Arsehole of a place. Weird fuckers

Have never crossed my mind but got the chance with a mate working over there so decided to do it. Stayed in Melbourne, but went to Sydney for a few days and Barrier Reef.

Was brilliant the Aussies are alright. There are a lot of war memorials.

Bolty must know who it is! :)

Yep, it's my mate Eric. That's at the airport picking up his mate Dave. Coincidentally something I was about to do but the Dave coming down to us is from New Mills, not Oswaldtwistle like Erics visitor. Our erstwhile potential visitor has had to change plans due to flight availability and ticketing issues. Father in law of my Evertonian nephew.

There are plenty of us here. There's a pathology lab close by where the head honcho has the registration plate BOLTONFC. There's a WANDERERS plate I have seen from time to time with BWFC stickers in the rear window. A Vespa PX200 with BWFC number plate.

There's even a bloke in my general vicinity who has BWFC paraphernalia on some of his vehicles. I talk to him regularly. The missus says it's a bad habit.

The dirty tricks bollocks they always play has started. Trash talk in the press etc. They usually do this when they have doubts about their representatives. Let's hope they are correct.

Yep.

I never predict a result whether it’s football or cricket. This is, however, our best chance since 2010/11.
This England side will love the diatribe coming from the convicts. 😉

Respect? Spoken like a true Liverpool supporter.

When they knew we were likely to win the 2003 RWC it was at its worst. The two princes were over here and the ABC (scurrilous equivalent of the equally obnoxious BBC) had a comedian and his pals on singing a ditty about "the English liking to slaughter their own princesses in Parisian tunnels".

That's not shithousery, that's scumminess.
