Fan Zone

Easier it has its own thread

Popped in, queue far to big with only one bar so went hotel

The setup though was really good, match on bit music, perfect

Spoke to one chap who did say there was another bar going in, which is great

First thoughts, to much food available and not enough drink, which is all that most fans want

Will definitely improve

  • Jesus. That was the go to football drink??? Glad I missed that craze.

  • I feel for you, Dan x

  • Maybe you just weren’t looking in the right place. A bit further down from a normal eye-line would ensure a slightly less brief view of him.

I’ve not been to the fanzine yet but it looks quality, is there any cover roof and sides for the games when it’s lashing it down.

Not much protection from the elements, yet, but it's a work in progress.

Queue’s much better than Saturday. About an hour before kick-off it was only about 6/7 deep, got served within 5 mins.

Mate of mine got a Nam-Ploy tub of noodles and loved it.

The black clouds looked very ominous at one stage - not sure how we would have all taken shelter under 3 gazebos!

Didn’t mind the Sax guy (during the times he was able to sort himself out to play!)

David Lee and SJM spoke for a bit (but I couldn’t hear them! 😂)

Memory might be playing tricks from Saturday - but I don’t think they had 2 screens then? Anyway a 2nd screen will be good when there’s a live game on.

One observation from our lot talking about how close it is to the walk-over bridge, which should make it interesting when we have large followings coming off the train…let’s see on Saturday…

Anyway all in all a pretty positive start for the Fanzone I would say.

Cheers,

Sounds like little changes have been made from the Wycombe game which tbf they said would happen,

think it’s this Saturday the candy floss & Prosecco tents are in operation

all good

About bloody time too. Been crying out for the kind of thing for years.
Are you even running a proper football club if you've not got a Prosecco bar?

Mr CEO must think there’s a market for it

You ain’t going to get many more matches with decent weather, supping Prosecco on a cold Tuesday night in a tent won’t hold up well

The Crofters had a Gin trailer - for the 15 minutes or so I was in there, queuing for no lager then just  wandering around looking at what was on offer I didn't notice a single customer - there was certainly no queue, and only a couple of gin glasses on the tables

Bottle/can bar would be better, as would the provision of Guinness.

I see a new merchandise hut is being put in the fan zone

That's 2 words...

I believe the club have now waived the £200 pitching fee for the businesses that are selling stuff in there for the next 6 games or so.

They'll make a tidy profit in the next couple of games, but it'll be interesting to see how busy it'll be when winter sets in ... unless, of course, they weather-proof it and add some heating.

A bottle/can bar for sure. Guinness yes, but only draught for me, and I'm not sure a dedicated Guinness pourer would get enough work.

A bloke collecting rubbish last night with one of them grabbers was telling people to get to the gin tent if it'sa quick drink you're after, no queues there.

I saw two blokes trudging up the steps last night. I thought where the fuck are theyse going .  If they've come out of Harvesters (or whatever) they've passed the crossing.

What's happening with the hotel? Is it just season ticket holders only still? First match they didn't check and last night the 7.45 kick off surprised me and I didn't have time to go.

Does anyone have any information on the weather proofing. If they made it water tight and wind proof it’s gonna make a fortune

They had nobody on the door against Wycombe.

First time in the FZ today, no complaints, quick service, Spurs game on, footy darts for the kids. Happy days
