Aye think most sane people are various points in the middle ground away from the micro analysis and what seems like overreaction on here.

Think we are all guilty of wanting everything here and now and in particular analysing to death the here and now.

Its a marathon not a sprint and all that.

We are up there punching and not even got onot even got out of 2nd gear year yet.ut of 2nd gear year yet. Sqaud seem really together and the match going fans are still massively on board.

Be reet wont it.

Basing my optimism on my belief that we've still to see the best of this lot.

And as you say, we're still right in it, and at times playing some great stuff.

Small sample size, but seem to be a bit better away this year.

Hope it can continue as I think that's held us back previously.

I think this has possibly been Evatt's best week as our manager, showing a willingness to listen and change. The tactical switch on Tuesday was spot-on and the new threat from set plays is a welcome addition.

We'll still lose some games that we'd expect to win, but that's the nature of Division 3 football. 2pts a game has to be the target and it's going well so far, despite many of us thinking we've not started to play well yet.

but he’s also developing, changing and improving as any young manager with ambitions to manage at a higher level should.

This is the bit that's important for me.

Experience teaching how to stick to your overall ethic, but being modest enough to remain flexible when things aren't quite working.

An ongoing evolution that all good managers achieve.

Hopefully it will continue, and we will reap the rewards.

Came on here this time last week said Evatt needed a plan B.......Fuck politics 7 days is a long time in football well done Evatt and the players

Well xone Evatt indeed. A good week.

Also a week we let Northamton back in and where holding on, one where we let Wycombe back in ... though credit for coming back at them again. Yesterday, excellent, though a lot of defending was needed (& achieved) in that second half.

We still could do with a plan B.

I’m not really sure what that claim is.

Why aren’t these examples of a plan b, c or d?

- Using Thomason as a holding midfielder or using him as a number 8

- Same with Sheehan

- Jones as a RWB or Jones as a RCD

- Darces Cogley as a LWB or RWB

- Changing personnel from game to game to suit the opposition

- Bringing on 2 bigger strikers to go more direct and hold the ball up better in the last 3rd

- Changing the approach in the final third and asking his players to either get the ball wider or shoot on site or work openings more patiently

- Equipping players with the knowledge to be fluid in formation in game situations

They wouldn't know a plan B if it slapped them in the face.

I genuinely don't understand the "option to buy" thing.

I don't think we ever had the option to buy Trafford or Bradley

But my guess would be there's a loan fee for someone like Ashworth and that could be then included as part of his overall transfer fee

Eg we value him at 500k, you can pay 100k to have him on loan and then only have to pay 400k to sign him

Total guess but If not I've no idea how it works because it's just a loan and you either buy him or not

Think West Brom do it for tax purposes as well. Sure Paul Robinson was on loan as well when he signed.

Apparently so

Had a look back

But by the sounds of it Robinson was signing for 3 years regardless

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/4490334.im-a-wanderers-player-says-robinson/

Robinson was upset to see his switch to the North West had been classified as a season-long loan deal and quickly moved to set the record straight.

“I have signed a three-year contract, simple as that,” he said. “The 12-month loan deal was simply helping West Brom out for tax reasons

Wanderers have agreed to pay around £1million for the former England Under-21 defender, although the money will not be paid until next season, giving the Baggies a 12-month tax break on the fee

Isn't it one of those myths that winning manager of the month means a shit run?

There are times it probably has but equally there must times it hasn't

But nobody remembers the latter

Aye probably

To be fair, I think a lot of the time the award is won by a manager who's team is on a bit of a hot streak rather than being generally good so it seems like it's a curse but it's actually just the team reverting to the norm

That bloke at Spurs has just won it three times in a row

Though given the injuries and suspensions they've got, it could easily go tits up
