We're a bit goal shy relatively speaking

And to think Utd are in turmoil

What does it look like if you exclude last season?

More relevant.

Precisely.

Tottenham could go top shortly, and aren't on the list.

Doubt they give a toss about last season's form.

Neither are Stockport and they've got 6 more points than us and top league two

Ian Evatt tonight took charge of his 182nd Bolton game - bringing him level with both Bruce Rioch and Colin Todd.

Evatt's 91 victories gives him a 50% return, which is the highest of any Wanderers manager (min 50 games).

For context though, at the lowest level? Must be along with Neal

Yes, player-coach for the B team.

We definitely had some dross, Tutte wasn't one of those IMO (nobody has to agree), I thought he was consistent, didn't give up possession easily, and an organiser.  Played over 100 games at L1 level and many more at L2, he wasn't plucked from nowhere like many in the L2 days.

My dross comment wasnt aimed at tutte

Ive mentioned before, cheltenham away, greenidge was left back so needed to take throws

Senior spent the warm up teaching him

A good record but as a statistic managerial win percentage is heavily dependent on context

I just wish someone could invent some kind of league table system that we could track our progress under managers properly.

It wasn't a point about Evatt really

It's just a bug bear of mine when people (not @desperado) use it without taking into consideration budgtes, state of the club, injuries, etc.

Fair enough.

Yes Greenidge was out on his own, currently at Maidstone in National League South.

I agree with you.

The tweet I got it from mentions Rioch and Todd, but it’s not really comparable in that context, as they were doing it a division or two higher.

Neals 37% is a good comparison.

Also within the context of the 4 year progress stats I put on the Charlton thread. And of course as @Casino pointed out the fact that Evatt was picking up a shit show with virtually zero resources in place.

Some effort being 4th then when hes previously been accused of not being able to beat top teams and i keep reading we have had an easy start

Bearing un mind we lost 2 of last seasons best players and we are now doing it with our own, on the back of 2 shit windows, its really quite remarkable that such  a stubborn, one dimensional manager with no plan B has us in such a decent position

Im dumbfounded, tbh

He’s a colossus no doubt.

if we played 45 mins a match he’d be one of the best out there.

if his job was too finish 4th by Oct 26th I’d agree he’s up there.

Nothing would please me more but he’ll not get us up.

Im beyond the point of debating now as it’s waste of peoples time convincing me.

Prove me wrong Ian.

Only top sides I would say we have had played and beat are derby and Wycombe.
We have had an easy start compared to what’s coming up including last night 8 away 9 if they fit the barnsley game in and only 4 at home this side of Xmas with both the top 2 away .
we have played all the bottom 6 sides  loosing 3 of them .
so yes a easy start to what’s coming up
