Eddie Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I’d genuinely rather put Dempsey up front than Dan. Far more to offer and definitely more likely to score Quote
Members Lt. Aldo Raine Posted June 30 Members Posted June 30 Plan A 2.0 He just couldn't call it Plan B, could he? I have to admire the contrariness of it really 😁 Quote

I have to admire the contrariness of it really 😁 Well, it probably means no plan B again. As last season his whole thing was "plan B is do plan A better". I've said it before but I don't think Evatt practice what he preaches on this. He seemed to have "plan A" which was in use most of the time, and then a "panic, we're losing the game and need to hoof it up - plan B" which almost never worked last season. Here's hoping "plan A 2.0" means "a change of formation" in normal language Quote

I'll probably give it a listen at some point, as I'm interested to hear how he thinks we can improve and what his thoughts are this season. Of course results are the main thing, and folk will judge on that, but he can't be criticised for simply fulfilling a basic requisite of management. Quote
Site Supporter Cheese Posted August 5 Site Supporter Posted August 5 He clearly and succinctly addressed the 'big game' mentality issue. Worth listening to just to hear him acknowledge that. Quote

Taken 2 years for him to acknowledge what most of us could see clearly. Still if he's finally not being as big headed and willing to learn it's a good thing - I'll give it a listen Quote

I doubt there'll be any "We're the best team in the League" statements this season. Quote

He’s in his forties (lots of managers in their thirties) who’s about to enter his 7th season (5th with Bolton) as a full-time manager, as well as a brief period as caretaker manager at Chesterfield. He is neither a young nor a novice manager. Quote
