NHC should get a 5 year ban from Europe and the threat of England not competing in the Eurovision if behaviour does not improve. Anyone with a Notting hill post code gets 6 years

Are people using the fact that there were so many arrests at NHC as proof of Two Tier policing or to disprove it?

I’m not sure what point people are making tbh

I'm not sure. I got confused about 3 pages ago! 😂

It’s simple, people, many from Notting Hill, want the carnival banned or cancelled because of all the crime it attracts.

Someone living in Scotland thinks they’re being ridiculous as it’s a peaceful event.

Thats it basically.

You’re getting very fixated on language semantics mate.

I’m not in any way dismissing how awful the behaviour is. I’m only saying how daft it is to suggest banning it.

It’s a weekend event of 2 million people ffs.

Maybe we should ban going out at the weekend because gangs are operating in town centres 🙃

If you organise an event in a town centre and it’s continually attracts stabbings, rapes etc it would soon be banned.

Now you’re just making stuff up out of thin air ya Fanny. I said the majority of people there are attending peacefully. Not sure how you’ve managed to twist it, but not surprised. You’re not really capable of discussing things.

Local communities are involved in the carnival & support it. The issues are along its route.

See the quote below. Nobody is suggesting banning it 😂

Local Tory MP Victoria Borwick, who commissioned the poll, called for changes to the way Carnival is run to make it a more positive experience for people who live along the route.

The event has broad support across the borough of Kensington and Chelsea as a whole with thousands attending every year, but local residents have suffered problems including crime and anti-social behaviour.

Suggested improvements included more toilet facilities, dropping the traditional August Bank Holiday Monday in favour of the Saturday and even ending the parade with a festival in Hyde Park.

This whole debate has come from a tweet off a bloke saying it should be banned and you’ve just said no one is suggesting banning it 😅

You really are special

A quick Google for the carnival over the years suggests it's always been rife with stabbings, gang violence and arrests.

Seems to be in the news every single year.

Are we saying it's reported wrong or embellished?

Two tier reporting? :D

It’s just creeping in 🤪

you couldn’t name one event similar to this (hence why football gets dragged into it) that has these kinds of crimes. Yet year in year out it’s allowed to go ahead and year in year out we same the headlines.

Nobody in the post from the article I was about to attach below ya muppet 😂 Making stuff up again because you can't read.

The local MP, the police... they're not looking to ban but looking at changes. Re-read the post again and focus on the bit that says 'see the quote below' and the position of that clause 😉

I'm sure there are plenty from your twitter feed who want it banned though. Keep posting away. We all want to hear what 'concerned citizen has to say'.

Nightclubs have in the past been rife with sexual assaults and harassments. Did we ban clubbing or look to change the culture and behaviour?

For someone who says they don't want NHC banned, you sound very sympathetic to those that do🙂

All I'm saying is banning it is a daft idea. I'm not denying the issues. We can leave it there x

I was talking about the whole clubbing scene

As you know

NHC isn't an event that takes place in one easy to manage venue. It takes place over a massive area of London with over a million people attending over 3 days. That's a huge proportion of the capital city attending every year. Why do you think they should be stopped because of the violent actions of a minority?

Folk are stabbed every weekend in London. It's an epidemic of knife crime and gang culture. Not the fault of the carnival and banning it is a ridiculous solution to the problem. It won't make sexual violence and knife crime go away

This year was particularly awful. Something needs to be done clearly.

Important to put into context with the numbers of people attending.

I think moving it is the better solution.

Back down to over a million over 3 days now 😂

Do you think those stabbings/rapes/acid attacks/police getting attacked happens if there’s no carnival?

Can you name Any similar event that attracts similar crimes?

To be fair to the NHC it has its moments that bring people together, where however difficult the challenge they think "what if....what if I could immerse myself in this and spread a little happiness"

Regardless if cunts are being cunts the carnival attracts trouble. No one can deny that.

What you on about ? Did you not know it was a 3 day carnival? 😂 you thought I didn’t know?

There are plenty sources saying up to 2 million attend every year.

these kinds of crimes are rife everywhere it seems

Honest question- should we ban the carnival to stop them?

Of course I did, it’s just your figures have been varying throughout the day.

If they can’t find an alternative place next year it needs to be cancelled.

Now can you try and answer my question. Is there any other event that you can think of that attracts this level of crime?

Park life?

Someone did get killed there and it always kicks off

As a percentage arrests around the same number

Two million, over a million. Stop obsessing over semantics. It’s all out there for folk to read.

I’d be more interested if you take 2 million people across London on any given weekend, & see what the average number of arrests & other incidents there are.
