The guys can’t be surprised by the police coming in and forcibly moving them away though.

If I walked into a pub in Wigan on match day in a Bolton shirt and started calling them all pie eating wankers, I couldn’t complain if the police turned up to remove me. I’d probably have been given a slap or two before the police arrive.

Sorry J but that is an absolute bollocks comparison. If you think that the number of police involved in removing TWO blokes who are demonstrating peacefully, is perfectly acceptable, then we are well and truly screwed.
Should all counter protests be banned because the ‘other’ side might object?

It was two people.

Waving a Union Jack in London and calling a terrorists organisation a terrorist organisation.

Nothing like a Bolton fan going in a Wigan pub

The blokes were blocking the route where thousands of people were marching. The police had to move them or risk a more serious situation. You honestly think the best thing was to stop thousands of people walking so those two could stand there for half an hour?

The video shows each guy being held by 3 cops and then is edited at which point it returns to them being manhandled by 6 or 7 cops. You and I have no idea what happened between and what the video edited out. Maybe they edited out 3 or 4 mins of boring chat. Or perhaps it was the two guys resisting the three cops, so more cops had to step in to assist.

What would have happened if 2 Hamas protesters tried to stop an English (say Football Lads Alliance) march?

They’d have been moved on too before it kicked off. Rightly so. And if they hadn’t, there would have been outrage from twitter feeds full of Union Jacks.

Sorry. TWO blokes were blocking thousands of protesters.? 😊

I’ll leave it here.

Not sure I get the point you’re trying to make.

Next time a couple of just stop oil protesters sit in the middle of a main road and block (not block) it, I’ll be sure to check that you and Royal White are standing up for them and criticise the police for arresting them.

Lost me there pal. Not sure what just stop oil has anything to do with it. They weren’t counter protesters. They were the protesters. We are talking about 2 people, just 2.

Eh? A ridiculous football anology first and now stop oil.

They were waving a Union Jack in London. Think about it .

I’ve been saying that Hamas are terrorists for a while. I’d better be careful what I say now.

Hamas are terrorists, I am not scared of saying it.

The police were doing their job, not sure why folk keep criticising them all the time.

Funny how some jumped to their defence in Manchester Airport only a few weeks ago. Not you BB by the way.

That’s getting pretty pedantic, T. Counter protesters are protesters.

At the risk of going a bit Cheese, in your view what should the police have done? Stand there idly and watch thousands of people walk past them and keep their fingers crossed nobody accidentally/purposefully knocks them over, trips over them, hurls abuse at them, punches them?

They watched someone nick the flag and walk off with it. 🤷🏻

It wasn’t about the flag, which you know. The flag was there so that the people recording it could say “these peaceful [counter] protesters were arrested for waving a Union Jack”. Which they weren’t.

So it was about calling terrorists terrorists? Even more baffling, as you (should) know

No need to be scared of saying  the truth. The police arrested two people for saying the truth. That is worrying.

What were they arrested for? Breaching the peace has been mentioned. Saying Hamas are terrorists? They are.

I don’t do Twitter. If either of you chaps do, why don’t you ask the Union Jack feed what they were arrested for? Rather than speculating.

It was you who told us what they wasn’t arrested for. I thought you might be in the loop. Or are you just speculating.

To be fair, standing up Infront of a march with a sign like that is going to cause trouble. The police have to police and I don't envy them one bit.

Hamas is a terrorist group. Why would it cause trouble in front of a march for peace?

BB has referred to a breach of the peace. Those chaps who were arrested should get on to Green & Black Cross to help explain why the police were wrong in arresting or detaining them if they thought there might be some harm caused.

Probably be arrested for supporting a terror organisation.
