To be fair, the way to be inclusive is to just recognise other events as well. Not stop what already exists.

If you've got a lot of Muslims in the school, then have stuff in place to support any that are fasting and have an Eid event at the end. It's about doing more, not cancelling other stuff.

There will be a big overreaction to this, but stopping the event isn't the right thing to do. Up to the Headteacher and parent council to decide though.

Read back you cunt

And if that doesn't help you're a Twat

And who the fuck mentioned Muslims?

Unsurprisingly you're obsessed with them.

Crikey.

Drinking late were we?

Spider asked what you meant when you said he'd 'given up' as well.

It's attitudes like his that have got us to where we are today. Happy to piss away all culture that has evolved in the British Isles because of a particular type of left wing dogma allied with a craving for virtue signalling.

Absolute wet wipe nonsense

& couldn't be further from the truth of how I live my life and the traditions I follow.

you don't half jump to some wild conclusions when you're on one of your meltdowns.

My lads dome world book day and comic relief stuff in the last 2 weeks alone.

Sure a few hats with mini eggs stuck to em isn't gonna harm anyone is it?

My lad and a few others are doing shit at maths, however there’s nothing they don’t know about Stephen Lawrence. 🤷🏻😂

The church thing is a different debate for me. This is something we traditionally do with our kids who like eating some chocolate at the end.

The bit I find ridiculous is that someone has thought that somebody would be offended by this, so we best not do it. Only someone who is offended on somebody else’s behalf could get to this square.

Going back to the church thing I see it a bit like people who like a beer but don’t go to the pub as much. Their beer love isn’t dying so much but they do it differently now. People can hold values at home and around without going to church. Like lots of people can work and not be in an office. I’d suggest (apologies if wrong as I don’t know) but Christian is still higher than atheist on the census etc.

The school celebrates  Eid and Diwali, how is that inclusive of all the other kids?

The teacher knows what’s she’s doing here and to be fair she’s doing a good job of it.

How do you know that?

But if so, that's what I was on about earlier

Do them all

Or none at all if you want to be a knob about it

Are they really binning off doing things for Easter but still doing things for Eid and Diwali?

It’s on the schools website

Just read about it on the mail

You'd like to think those will be scrapped too

I get them not having a "service" on religious grounds in the same way I doubt they'd get everyone going prayers during EId

But you can still do an Easter bonnet parade, light shows for diwali and no school dinners during Ramadan

But why the fuck should we pander to cultures who have moved to the UK? Would it happen if Brits had interloped in large numbers into (for example) muslim lands? Would it fuck.

haha. Okay fella, I'll play.

I don't particularly agree with the teachers decision. But as usual, the reaction is over the top and doesn't reflect the reality of most schools.

I went to a CofE school. Loved the traditions involved as a kid and still get emotionally nostalgic on the rare visits back to Bolton when walking around the grounds at St. Max.

It's echo chamber nonsense the assumption that teachers are pushing some sort of left wing agenda. I do a fair bit of work with our local church group at work, take groups planting in the gardens there regularly and have done harvest festivals. We're taking the whole school to the local church for an Easter service next Friday. Christmas is fckn mad at our school, too much to even list the stuff we do in the run up.

We also have a 'Ramadan club' for the older kids who are fasting this month. At Eid we've started doing a community event after school where all families (Muslim or not) bring a dish in. Also do something for Diwali and Lunar New Year.

That's inclusivity in a nutshell for me. It's not 'pandering to other cultures'. It's ensuring everyone feels they have a place.

You agreed with Bolty's post, so go ahead and elaborate, how am I 'pissing away all culture that has evolved in the British Isles' ?

Probably doing more than the pair of you are to keep 'Easter traditions' alive.

Tbf, I saw more drugs, pisspots and benders last time I went to Dubai than a day cleaning windows in Blackpool town centre.

Many countries,  especially a lot of what we would call Muslim countries, are welcoming of Christian’s now. The point is I doubt any of the schools in these countries would stop Muslim celebrations because it’s makes others feel left out.

Probably because their population are still practicing Muslims?

Hands up, who on here attends church even once a month apart from W1984? The fact is we can't be arsed even if we still claim to be Christian.

I wasn't raised with any religion so that why none of this concerns me in any way really.

I do agree with others that if a school is celebrating any religious event then it should also do the same for others too but it's not like they have banned the Christmas nativit

But they have Eid celebrations at the school yet stopped Easter. This nation isn’t a majority Muslim country (yet)

But I assume they still celebrate Christmas?

Let's be honest, which kids are arsed about the anniversary of the resurrection of Jesus?

They want a big fucking chocolate egg.

The aborigines had to.
