Meanwhile In England

I'm interested in stuff like this - so I was doing my usual stuff with AI.

It reckons that out of 32,000 working aged people in England - you could expect 1,280 to appear in front of a magistrate each year, so 640 over a 6 month period.

So it agrees with previous reports which concluded that offending rates amongst asylum seekers are roughly held as what is seen in the general population (ie not the one done by The Sun and being reported in The Express in your post). The article briefly mentions this but then doubles down on The Sun investigation which led the the opposite conclusion.

I'm surprised tbh - I would have expected the figures to be more like the ones in the article - based to the fact that these people are generally poor - and I that I believe it's poverty that usually leads to crime (as opposed to it being specifically cultural or based on where someone was born).

I'm not saying this for a row btw - just my thoughts after your article got me thinking and reading. AI also doesn't give an indication into the relative severity of the crimes being committed by each of the groups. So it could be that the AS group committed more serious crimes - but the article doesn't seem to be suggesting that explicitly (although it's definitely written in a style to try and make you believe that).

So I'm sceptical about the numbers without seeing exactly how they came to that conclusion. And also surprised that offending rates amongst asylum seekers aren't higher than the background population.

It’s more the point that we have People coming over that we don’t know anything about and they’re being allowed (and paid) to just roam around towns.

What the fuckery is that about?

Chinged? I think that is what he was saying.

Shank was mentioned earlier, so that suggests something serious.

Different world, with Pidgin type language.

Grim.

To be fair, it's hard enough to scam thick/gullible folk, nobody needs a dogooder making it more difficult

Like the stalls all along Blackpool prom and at carnivals

No one is getting a ring over a prize, the rings are too big

Or them robot grabbers in arcades

There's a bloke on temple bar, offering hundreds of euros if you can hang off his bar for 30 seconds, 5 or 10 euros ago, but no one can, because it's rigged

Same the world over

I think the outrage is over the spitting and abuse because someone is filming them, rather than the scam itself.

"Why the hell is this tolerated"

Ask the guy filming it

What is anyone else supposed to do about it?

I would hope the fella filming sent his videos to the police, and they would take some sort of action. I'm sure most of us would be fucking fuming if one of those scamming cunts spat at us just because we were recording their scam.

I suspect it's not even crossed his mind to send it to the police and the whole reason he filmed it was to get that reaction and post it on social media

He says in the video that he's going to send his footage to the police. I don't give a fuck why he filmed it, the scammers in that video spitting at him and abusing him are vile - and breaking the law. If you think they should be allowed to assault people simply for filming their scam, there's something wrong with you.

I don't think they should even be there in the first place

Let's hope the police take this as an opportunity to shut down their entire operation

Perhaps if more people film them and provoke similar reactions there'll be more than enough evidence to do something about them

Some on here would have you believe there’s never any trouble there.

Who said there’s never any trouble in London ?

Who om earth is giving them money in the first place?

Used to see them in Tenerife all the time with the black circle things.

You'd have to be a proper thicko to think you're going to win.

Saying that I reckon I've done enough dough to buy Alfie May in those grabber machines over the years to appease the children.

Here we go again. Another “top, top lad” killed on an e-bike. 15 years old

Word is there’s a video doing the rounds of him hacking a lad with a machete to steal it and it’s the lad’s dad chasing him and mowing him down. Could of course be bullshit but I’m guessing it will all go off again like in Salford

Just seen the footage of that. Fookin ell! 😲

The blokes 59. In trying to stick up for his son, he's just condemned himself to the next 10-15 years in prison. Grim.

Top top lad
Very respectable, just a bit misunderstood

No mention of the machete he used on the driver's son shortly before the incident?
