They don't ignore the rules on this MPs issue.

Ofcom did investigate and punish them.

This was then overturned by the courts.

Ofcom is now looking at changing their rules accordingly.

On other issues the channel has been punished.

The very essence of why the channel exists. 

The seemingly lack of will by other outlets to really get to the bottom of these problems, and regularly inform and update, and even close down interviews.

Rightly or wrongly, those behind it felt something was amiss in the reporting and decided to go a slightly different way.

It has worked, and given the "blob" a bloody nose.

Despite its undoubted bias, the number of former MPs, and commentators from all parties that are regularly on still provides for balance within debate.

It was notable just how many prospective Labour ministers regularly appeared on it in the lead up to the last election.

The Police can't really win in these instances. After Southport, it was all over X, and repeated on here, that the killer was Muslim, had only just come over on a boat and a false name was peddled.

When his details were released, including that he was originally from Oswestry - "oh he's a Welsh choir boy is he?!" 

The police are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

There is potential for trouble either way.

Therefore release the information, so that they can't be accused for being involved in a cover up.

Any subsequent trouble isn't "on them".

The number of incidents and public concern simply highlight the problem that is here, obvious and worsening.

After the Liverpool incident there were plenty of people saying it was not a white bloke and posting pictures of random folk with dark skin to prove their point. 
 

There was a really grainy image of the car were the driver was pixilated to fuck and people using that as clear proof.

The legal proceedings were dealt with quite quickly, which always helps ward off that kind of thing

First hearing four days after, then to appear before the Crown Court on 14th August

The problem with releasing the ethnicity immediately after is that a significant minority of numbnuts will attack police, immigrants & their property every time a foreigner commits a serious crime.

It’s a shit show & I think that the police are genuinely just trying to weigh up how to best keep their officers & people in the community safe. 
 

For what it’s worth, I think they should just be honest. Because the truth often gets out & the rumours can cause more damage.
 

Not easy for the police. & all the screeches of two tier policing are just irrational bullshit.

Anyway. What do the stats say about immigrants/migrants & serious crime. Are they proportionally higher than within white British communities? Just genuinely curious here, as I don’t know and can’t be arsed looking 😄

It doesn't matter what the stats say. If an immigrant or brown person commits a crime, they're on the streets smashing shit up. If a White British person commits the same crime, birds tweeting and tumbleweed.
