  • Can not speak for @gonzo but coming back yesterday we ended up with one  of our seats double booked with a protester. We chatted most of the way back, I told him I  was not a supporter and he was fine

  • I just wish folk would stop producing bollocks information and spreading it. 3 kids have been murdered ffs and the first thing someone can think of is set up a fake twitter profile and post some

Sorry

are you blaming traffic jams on the M60 on immigrants?

and as for free speech, well now you’re just talking absolute fucking cat shit.

Leave the issues for us patriots to sort. You enjoy being detested by the locals 😁

Not wanting to get in an argument but you haven't got a clue about living in Spain. Its knobhead pissed up Brits the locals object too. Not people that integrate and contribute to the community.

But its fine for piss head Brits to come and cause bloody havoc.

Ok being pedantic, Action, happy now.

Because some dickheads from their group attacked an RAF base putting planes out of service costing well over £4m in the process.

For me, I would have just sent them down for a very long time but I have zero sympathy for the group as a whole being shat on like they have been.

Other Palestinian supporters have been happily protesting before, during and after pretty much every weekend in London.

Now tell me why we don't have free speech in this country.

The common denominator here is British folk.

You try walking through any major city in the UK holding a sign to show support for Palestian Action, every chance you will be arrested  That is not free speech.

I'd be more worried about how a set of layabouts armed with a bit of paint got through

I’ve had family living in Spain for 30 years. So I’m probably well clued up.

The locals don’t really want English people there. They like our money. That’s it.

Offering support to a terrorist group hasn't been allowed before and shouldn't be now.

We have never had completely "free speech", indeed no one has, and with good reason.

Have a look back on the restrictions on the reporting of the IRA/Sinn Fein.

There are 84 groups currently on the banned list.

They're not unique.

Made me laugh that they are saying money has dried up and they want Brits back.

Presume then their well integrated and very happy living in Spain, as we are too.

Never heard that. Spanish ecomony is booming.

Always found it bizarre when they had an actor do Gerry Adam's voice

My sister speaks fluent Spanish which helps a little but the truth is that integration is very much a subjective situation. I assume you speak fluent Spanish?

The locals don’t want any more English settlers. House prices for their own born and bred people are getting out of reach and the resentment is very real.

reckon the yanks should do that with RFK jr.

(might be best if they let the actors ad lib while they're at it)

Because Palestine Action attacked an RAF base, how stupid is that?

Do you want people to be free to attack our military bases? I expect you don't.

The difference is, the population of each country is similar, but Spain is vastly bigger than the UK. The health service and other services aren't at braking point in Spain. The roads aren't clogged up with traffic. Public transport is so much better as well in Spain. Spain has one of the fastest growing ecomonies in Europe. One thing it hasn't got is The Wanderers.

I feel your pain mate. Over in your general neck of the woods at the moment. Wish I'd been here in July instead!

How much do you chip into NATO?

NATA choc chip ice creams very cheap at the local chiringuito here. Does this count?

Been lucky. It’s fucking hammered it down but managed to avoid it most days.

I feel your pain too. There's been thick cloud and mist hanging over this place for the last few days. Humid as fuck and anything but pleasant.

Don't think Palestine Action would agree.

There's a difference between free speech and committing acts of crime costing the country plenty to fix.

They should be made to clean up any mess they cause. It's the Just Stop Oil crowd dressed in stupid looking scarves. The latter would be handy for removing their paint.

Me too and the change has been noticeable. Even checkout chicks have reverted to their former pleasant selves and I believe that Nerf Super Soaker shootings have subsided.

Every man and his dog knew how important UK tourism and residencia is to Spain - especially in this neck of the woods. Latched on pretty quickly that cutting off your nose to spite your face was a stupid policy - mainly driven by rent a mob types from Barcelona and copycats.

One of the first things we asked when we got here. Our local clan members told us there's been a definite change in attitude.

I bet they love you.

A funny one all this.

I can understand the ire when large numbers of folk arrive and bring with them consequent difficulties.

There have been similar complaints here, in one or two places, when large numbers of tourists arrive.

These Spanish hot spots developed quickly though, on the back of visitors' desire for some sun.

Some focused on bars, alcohol etc aiming for the younger clientele.

Now biting the hand that feeds them: perhaps they should have thought about it all before the rapid development and how appropriate it is.

Maybe we chose well and settled away from the coast. We haven't encounted any of the problems for mentioned. Were well accepted by all in our tradional village, although were not fluent in Spanish we have enough to get by.
