leigh white
Be careful on a hot summers walk by a river or a brook, if you brush your skin against these fuckers, they are more toxic than a Britany Spears song.

SatanGreavsie
Giant Haystack's first "nom de guerre" before he changed it after the threat of legal action from the Royal Horticultural Society and Percy Thrower. When the latter was murdered in March 1988 Haystacks got a knock from the coppers but was never charged as his alibi (that he was beating King Kong Kirk by two falls at Mansfield Civic Centre) at the time was accepted. But the thing is, Kirk died in August of the previous year after being splashed by Big Daddy in Great Yarmouth ( see Malcolm Kirk - Wikipedia ), so it makes you wonder.... I've said it before, any "full grown" adult man, who is under 5'8" simply can't be trusted, as they're clearly part human and part gnome. Trust these midgets at your peril. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 20, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted June 20, 2021 Google the plant and read some of the stories. Pictures are horrendous. Two lads from round here somewhere had a sword fight with stems a few years back- not great.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 20, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted June 20, 2021 Shockers aren't they! At one time, one of the rangers based in clifton country park would spray them off along the river banks, helping keep it down. That has long since stopped, and the issue has got significantly worse now as the plants have spread. The dried out stems in winter once they have died off are quite a size and tower over everything else like something from a disaster movie. Can see why they were brought into the country all those years ago, as they are magnificent, architectural plants, but like many such things, so little was known about them, and now we're struggling with them. Get some scientists working on a permanent weed killer. It's a biennial plant. Produces loads of seeds on those giant heads. Twat it before flowering and no seeds produced. Do this repeatedly to use up the seed bank and its gone. Himalayan balsam, an invasive annual, can be nobbled similarly. Though apparently the seeds are edible and peppery. Japanese knotweed on the other hand is an absolute monster, even if it is edible too.
Site Supporter MickyD Posted June 20, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted June 20, 2021 The government should put a bounty on the un-flowered heads of Gian Knotweed. Pay a bounty fee per kg but no other payment for the time taken to harvest the haul. There wouldn’t be a GK plant within a couple of years. Good idea, although no doubt some manc scallies would be growing them in their back yards instead of cannabis.
