That performance today for me is also not just important to get us promoted, but for when we do get to the Championship. In the Championship most teams will want to play and will press us high, it's been our Achilles heel and we've got to have a plan for it. Today wasn't a perfect performance no, but there's genuine signs there. That game today was an away performance and result that we have really been missing for some time. First top 6 away win in how long ? At home they'll play high again and be going for it. We've got to simply set up the same way, but this time with better quality, play brave quick passes as well. There's got to be a distinction between playing direct and then just lumping it at every opportunity. If it is potentially Posh at Wembley, then improving these aspects will really suit as they play very high as well. Let's get the job done Tuesday.

Evatt really does have a plan B, shame we had to wait 2 years to see it. Williams and Maghoma both absolutely menacing Barnsley today, Maghoma is a must buy for me. Williams clearly marking himself out as first choice left wingback. Question from me though: Do we still win that 3/1 without the quality of Dion, Santos or Baxter as we had been for big chunks in the second half of the campaign? I'm not convinced, really underlines the fine margins. if we do get promoted i think there's going to have to be some significant investment in certain areas.

Sung solidly for about 20 mins before kick off, it’s a belter! Atmosphere tonight was one of the best I’ve seen for a while. Probably to be expected considering the result and importance of the game but even before kick off it was buzzing. Great game, brilliant result, Santos in that form is too good for this league. Can’t believe, after a fantastic fucking night on the pitch and our best ever away play off result/performance, I’m on here quoting a terrace anthem! 🤣 Where did that come from! 🤣. No sign of it last week at Peterborough, now it’s almost reached legendary status! 🤣 It was fucking brilliant! Oh and its Baxter not Santos After decades of repeated 5 syllable chants, we’ve somehow pulled of a classic, that sounds like it should be heard on the continent! 🤣. Fucking loved everything about tonight: EDWMC was bouncing and but for a 10 minute spell we absolutely bossed that game and got what we deserved! 👏👏

Terrible news round here. 9 year old grandson has an Italian bird on his arm. Her mother has an ice cream van (quality Italian immigrant) and has stood as an Independent on Oldham council. Lost her seat to Labour by 19 votes. Seems he doesn’t give a shit. More worried about the fact that Failsworth Villa, who he plays for, could lose their elevntyfifth consecutive game tomorrow. Boy needs to give his head a wobble and understand what’s really important

Cameron Jerome turning into my favourite player. He's too old clearly, but had a level of ability far above most of the strikers at this level and is just a solid professional. If Evatt can get him in his coaching staff long term that would be great. Back to the game, Charles showed us exactly what we've been missing. His link up play is terrible, but his runs in behind and pressing of the opposition are exceptional. Still a bit nervous about the home leg but an early goal will kill it.
