Sacked for not controlling his weight How the Weighty have Fallen

his move to boro was the beginning of the end. remember all those smogs accusing bwfc of having a poor attitude to fitness because of his condition?

his comments on signing for boro were more focused on his new contract than new club, same with blake when he moved to jackburn.

both were set up for life with the wiggle of a pen. both never had the mindset to put in the work required to keep them at the top of thier game. clubs who signed them afterwards were bonkers.

you might mock!!!

I think Ricketts was one of the best strikers we have had.

He got us up into the premiership and kept more importantly - kept us up

I don't think anybody doubts that. It should never be forgotten the impact this player had whilst at Bolton Wanderers, shame it all went to his head. A waste of a talent really

There will be moonmen on here wanting to sign him back on.

given the right training regime, psychological help and some love from the fans - I think he could still do a good job for us.

Looking at how his career has gone over the past few seasons, it looks like Sam really did get rid of him at just the right time............lucky old Middlesbrough

I really don't think he deserves 'our love'. Not forgetting the decent wage he'd have been on at Southend. Wouldsn't that have been motivation enough.

FAT WASTER!

i agree in part but he needs to get his head straight cause at the moment it sounds like he cant be bothered with football anymore. i wouldent be against him training with us and see if sam might be able to sort his head out we have given mat jansen a chance so y not rickets.

apart from the didi haman transfer good business big sam did with ricketts

sold him for 3.5million

how much did we pay for him 500,000 quid

i know most players need a bit of confidence to preform but he needed alot after his move from boro to leeds he never stood a chance he was not around quality players to help him its a shame for the lad but i still think he could do a job back a walsall or for league one side maybr a championship side

Not in team or on the bench.

Was in the Sun today that he's been sacked. Was also in the Southend Echo on Wed too apparently - so that may be where the Sun picked it up from.

Maybe his size and fitness now qualifies him for the allstars

FROM SLUFFYS POST ELSEWHERE:-

" He took two totally different types of goal - one a soaring target man's planting header, the other a precision shot at the end of a pacey run - ruthlessly but his movement and the frighteners he put on Newcastle's two centre halves proved he has simply got everything in his locker except consistency "
