I'm sure England's players will reflect and think they could have done things better or differently, but the pitch hardly followed the expected pattern and I'm pleased Root set a sporting target. Maybe the experience will stand the team in good stead should a similar situation arise again, with a bit more at stake. (Winning the last test to win the ashes for example).

We seem weak in midfield, defending not great and not a lot of creativity, on balance I'd snatch their hand off but with the proviso that we get in someone to plug the gaps. We have a big fella as back up, and with more possession we might create a few more chances and we have players who'll put the ball in the net.

And hope the builder doesn't get investigated.

Perhaps they need to look at doing something different. A measured distance in a "cross country" type thing. Start at moses gate and utilise the canal towpaths and country park in a circular route. Not quite fell running but less bland than roads. Wouldn't have to close roads and could make a bit of an event of it, with the space available at the car parks and fields.

Not convinced we can't play 3-5-2 nor 4-4-2. Just a case of getting the right players for the roles. Surely the performance against Wednesday illustrated that. Parky may have to be ruthless with some of the players that got us up last season. Not sure I'll ever be convinced by him tactically, but he's got something; spirit, balls, aggression and seems to have created a good team spirit. Not time to panic, time to stick together and battle. The main concern has been the apparent lack of battle from some of the players; get that sorted and we have enough to survive.

No problem with the principle, but its not practical. There are insufficient cells as it is. The construction costs etc alone would be prohibitive. Think I suggested once before, a converted tanker/cargo ship anchored in the middle of the north sea might be useful. Chuck them on there and leave em to it. Just watched the goals again. Reckon Parky was very unlucky to get sent off. OK he came out of his area to remonstrate, but it was hardly crime of the century; we'd have managers going off game in game out if it was. Their mon however deserved it.
