  1. Missed it last night of my holiday. Bummer.
  2. Used to get h&so data sheets for products we used from union carbide, not long after. Pages and pages of ridiculously over tested creatures. Evidence of mutagenic properties of "x" when amoeba were subjected to a gallon of the stuff.
  3. Chalk and cheese. Two divisions apart, one had money to spend, wasn't under a transfer embargo and inherited a premiership class squad. The other didn't.
  4. As you say Micky, its moved on. Its hardly perfect and there are no doubt examples of poor treatment, but there are rules and these places are subject to punishment for flouting them. No exemption should be made on religious grounds.
  5. Yep. Can't speak for sweep's situation, but I'd be interested to know how many companies have utilised the situation, and not bothered with in house training for youngsters, apprenticeships etc. Moreover, no one is saying the likes of sweep's chap won't be able to come at all, might just be a little more difficult.
  6. So they shouldn't to it then? Its merely a way of showing respect, not just for the animal, but for the environment which provides their food.
  7. Remember being a bit bored during a game against west brom. Sam's long ball game yielded a couple of late goals in a comfortable 2-0 win. Was wishing for a bit more "quality". More fool me. Be careful what we wish for.
  8. Bollocks. We're not in a hunter gatherer society any more. There are cultures that thank the dead animal for feeding them. Not saying we should but stunning a created before slaughter is hardly asking too much. Like those Chinese bastards frying live carp; twats. And an interesting fact that might interest you- these delicious fuckers aren't so delicious when slaughtered while particularly stressed. Animals that are relaxed don't release stress hormones which affect the quality of the meat making it tougher. Happy cow= tender tasty meat.
  9. That might not be too far away. No one is going to want to work for him soon.
  10. Spot on. Belgium areas banning it too. Muslim and Jewish communities up in arms as it affects their religious sensitivities. One Jewish group claims its the worst attack on them since Hitler. Ffs backwards bastards.
  11. Guess time flies. Point remains though. Slitting an animals throat and letting it bleed out with its head flapping loosely on its neck is horrible. Actually watched a documentary showing the lot once. Unless they've changed things then its far from humane. Normally, animals are stunned first then killed with a bolt. Nothings perfect, but its pretty quick and 'painless'. Watching the kosher job, the cow was brought in, its head leaning over a wall/gate. The chap lifted up what is basically a sword and cut it, the blood squirted into a room, hitting a wall, whilst the animal suffered. It wasn't pleasant viewing. Strangely the slaughter man seemed decent and respectful but using an inhumane method. The idiots doing the standard humane methods, were freaks and weirdos. May not be reflective of industry as a whole, but was eye opening.

  13. I do, massively. If we're going to eat meat, at least show the animal some respect and care when slaughtering. Neither kosher nor halal should be permitted for me.
  14. Went into MacDonald's at the bottom of Derby street the other day. Bar us, every customer was Asian, not that bothered with halal.
  15. I'm sure the undesirables won't be allowed to stay. Just a shame that those skilled people also have the wherewithal to sort out something else whilst negotiations go on. That being said I can't see folk of his ilk having anything to worry about.
  16. You wonder just how many folk requiring halal food would frequent a place serving alcohol and burgers etc.
  17. Indeed. I was surprised that wheater wasn't older. As you say a number are approaching thirty or so, and we seem to lack a bit of pace. Another year on for them and in a higher league- some youngsters with energy coming through would help with the work load.
  18. World's mad.
  19. Would really like to see some youngsters come good. Last year's team had quite a high average age.
  20. I've no IKEA what you lot are on about.
  21. Cheers. Sounds similar, Krebs when starting the strimmer or using loppers. Will try the ice; it does feel hot. Going away soon, so will see what its like after.
  22. We'll all get used to it once a few have gone the wrong way and been shown in the BN. Interestingly, a number of cars parked in the bus lane at the bottom of Deane road, with their hazards on were being ticketed when we passed on Saturday. Hopefully they'll continue this on Trinity street, and stop those lazy cunts who wont drive 50 yards further into the drop off lane.
  23. Good on them, though they may now understand our predicament.
