Sadly, the Tories campaign was so poor that he did better than expected. She's still at it now, almost in denial that it wasn't a good night. Fortunately she can still get on with brexit (albeit changed). Its this old fashioned style that has alienated her and a spot of contrition would go amiss. I was really keen on a strong performance with brexit and security issues paramount but she didn't shine. Its a shame as I think she is good at politics behind the scenes, but she just didn't appeal.

Poetry, statements of love, respect togetherness- all symbols of standing together and perfectly understandable and reasonable. If it helps people mourn and come to terms with incidents great. Sadly though, it will make naff all difference in the eyes of the extremists. These freedoms and expressions do need underpinning by stronger, stricter measures. Not sure what exactly is needed though.

Just seen macdonell say Tories should should step back, sort out a new leader and let labour get on with a minority government. Unbefuckinlievable. I know labour have done well relatively speaking but an astonishing comment. Overall not as big a surprise as might have been expected. Apart from talking about brexit, and strong and stable bullshit, Tories didn't present a good enough case. Failing to offer a costed care plan looked shabby, failure to acknowledge NHS strife smacked of ignorance or stupidity. Perhaps they were overconfident, but for me the performance from announcing the election was rank. Incumbent governments often have a ratings slump midterm, so it was imperative that they presented a good case. Add to the fact that (as described by several commentators) corbyn is an excellent campaigner and seasoned protester they clearly went down the wrong track.

Now we're getting somewhere. I don't think its right for any party to reveal too much about their brexit plans; as detailed much earlier in the thread. That's why we have to go on how we view them on the box etc. TM just appears as more likely- a dogged so and so who has shown as home sec. that she'll fight if necessary- not justifying her performance, just how she showed tenacity which may be important. I also agree entirely, as I put it to my neighbour who couldn't decide, that as the incumbents when brexit was voted for, that perhaps they should see it out. Cameron's performance with EU reforms was pitiful, then he did one. I voted out but probably wouldn't have if he'd achieved a modicum of success. Now, unless anyone can offer anything better, they should see it to its climax. Fuck it up, and they'll be royally fucked. I also agree that there's more to it than brexit, but his beliefs on immigration and security are worrying for me. I do agree that the squeeze on public services has gone too far, and the next government will have to relax that to a degree whoever wins. We have to cut our cloth, but folk want to see some benefit of doing so; the economy is doing quite well, but there's still the debate over poverty etc. And for what its worth, I find it somewhat insulting when parties adopt these slogans and buzz words, strong and stable etc. Just fuck off, be honest as much as possible, and present your case. Every leader etc seems to have had tough times in interviews because of these ridiculous notions and not wanting to appear weak. If TM made a bit of a uturn over the cap, then fine just say so. They all do my head in with this and make it worse IMO. Anyway, I'm knackered- watching comey for a couple of hours or so and now this. My head hurts.

Was surprised by the attendance against the kiwis. Seemed a bit low key.

Alf will get goals so long as chances are being created. The last goal of the season summed it up for me. Vela made a strong run and showed a bit of quality. Alf's movement was excellent and a decent simple pass set him up. Splendid.

Its difficult as we tend to visualise it as things are now. Not sure if any old maps are available online. There used to be a decent fishing lake where the cinema is now, and presumably that would have been a mill pond- perhaps union road went somewhere near buildings it served. -
Now you're behaving like cheese. Like to ask questions for proof etc but aren't prepared to offer your own. If youd bother to read my earlier points earlier you'd see I actually agreed with your assertions that Tories haven't outlined what they want, as indeed no one has. This isn't dressing anything up as fact. It is entirely an opinion based on evidence presented by media outlets; how they come across. As for may being a remainer- indeed she was- but the party elected the person they felt would be best to lead them, from those available. You'd never be happy with anyone as you are clearly set on red. It was a common sense move to put Davies, a leaver, to be in charge of dealings, on different levels. I genuinely believe that whether she was a remainer or not, TM wants the best deal for Britain, as the leave die has been cast. Whether ultimately she'll prove to be a good pm, I'm not so sure- have to see. I've voted for all three main parties before now; I'm happy to plump for the people who I believe are likely to achieve the best over their tenure, at that time. I've got a number of personal beliefs which are left of centre- however based on what has been seen I can't see corbyn's lot achieving the best brexit result nor security/immigration changes. Now then that's your question answered, not asking you to agree- we're all going to have differing beliefs; but come on, explain how you believe corbyn's et al would achieve something better. Like the Tories they haven't offered a vision of brexit agreements (and rightly so), so all we can do is go off what they present in the media. Come on, stop doing a cheese and denigrating others opinions, explain why you believe someone else will be better. I'm genuinely interested as corbyn genuinely offers nothing for me to give me belief in him.

Its odd that two countries with human rights laws, that have welcomed migrants openly, UK and France, are suffering such terrible attacks. It has been used as a way in and I'd personally be very happy to have greater scrutiny if it meant I had freedom to attend an event, with or without family, without a little nagging thought of 'is it completely safe; what if....' All talk in election build up of brexit, NHS, education etc will seem irrelevant if this lot isn't addressed quickly.

The evidence is there in the comments since and MPs openly saying they wouldn't back the vote. Some well known Tories also of similar voice in fairness- including Mr major, though like I said on balance, the Tories present themselves as more likely to achieve a positive result. As to why- presumably they don't agree with it and don't feel they can countenance it. Been plenty of discussion many pages back on this about whether it was right to "go against" the referendum result or not. Now then, you tell us why they aren't and are best placed to lead the brexit negotiations, or indeed and other party?

Aye, always nice to home to a tidy place; but she goes way OTT. Miami could tell when we go away as shares in domestos must leap. -
None of us know exactly what the brexit deal will be, nor what exactly the pm or corbyn's really want. As discussed elsewhere this may not be a bad thing- do you show your cards before you start to play? It is also highly likely that they don't fully know what they can get- perhaps just lines in the sand for minimum requirements. What is quite clear however, that labour seems more split than any other party on brexit, the lib dems want another vote, SNP want to avoid it, and ukip won't be able to affect the discussions. So we're left with the Tories. Seemingly the most likely to negotiate best. Not guaranteed but that's how it seems. Moreover as it happened on there watch I believe they should be given the opportunity to carry on the process to its conclusion and the few years after. Then we can all make a more rational opinion. Its also last chance saloon too with regard to NHS and wages etc. Whatever the reality is, the perception is struggling services and low wages; sooner or later people will choose to turn away from the current regime if things don't improve and try again for the spend and invest in public services that brown used. There's arguments for both, its just the level its pushed to that will see it swing to and forth.

This. One of my gaffers at the council wrote a risk assessment that was astonishingly bad, this on top of several assessments given out that were clearly written by a pen pusher going through the motions to fulfil a requirement, whilst nodding in an overly warm office. Used to do a bit myself in previous roles- even though the institute safety officer said I wasn't technically supposed to- senior staff were supposed to do them- but at least they had the sense to defer it to someone with experience and knowledge of processes being assessed. It is however totally tedious. -
Think I will have a read about him. Sounds all wrong- vaguely remember Cameron making those comments, perhaps he had a point.

Same here. My missus starts fuckin nesting before we go on holiday. But not proper tidying; all paperwork gets stuffed in a box and shit just disappears so it looks tidy but you can't find anything. Its as if she's preggers- gets a bit grumpy too; just leave her to get on with it or it'll wind me up. -
Miami- given all that perhaps he is indeed a 'role model' for young British muslims- if you get my drift. Must admit, never knew all that stuff about him. Sounds a bit of a cunt.

I have issues with the lot of them, though I doubt anyone would ever completely fit. I also hate the idea of voting tactically but it might be essential this time, with brexit on the horizon. Don't have a problem with posh wankers, or indeed anyone: so long as they perform well as an mp.

Indeed.

Finished up cutting up trees down over our cycle track this morning. Quite a few down apparently.

Not sure- they've just reelected a moderate and are anti-IS. Your enemy's enemy and all that.

I've tried to pm you- won't let me. I once had to supply a copy of mine to tender for some work, even though legally I didn't need one. -
Two biggest players Saudi and Iran. Qatar already been fucked off by a few states. Could get messy very quickly. Hopefully just stay out of it this time and leave the sand dwellers to it.

Very strict. Come over the water to get sorted.
