  1. A club with no permanent manager, an owner that wants to sell, and with a huge debt. As many on here point out the bar codes have achieved nothing for years so why would he want to go there? As for the so called boo boys, he may be pi$$ed off but Megson doesn't have to sell, and he keeps picking him so presumably rates him. For all Megson's complaints about squad size, it seems a strange move, unless a replacement or two is coming. Has Nolan realised Big Sam's not there anymore?
  2. Absolutely. Also, accepting players' inability to control and pass a ball, but not a lack of effort... Have and will never abuse a player/manager during a match, but frankly the football is awful. Weather or not he's right; responding in such a manner is hardly going to improve the situation.
  3. Recently got fined for having a slash on the pitch
  4. Blackburn v Bolton 2-3 Last minute big mac winner (off bench) Bolton v Tottenham 1-2 usual home negativity Everton v Bolton 2-0 eleven men behind ball, 23% posession, inevitable late goals Bolton v West Ham 1-2 crap performance costs Megson dear Bolton v Newcastle 2-0.... Stoke v Bolton 0-1.... Megson gone after West Ham's win (they've improved a lot recenty) New manager syndrome for the next two
  5. Forget the match, just put Fat Sam and Garty in a ring in the middle of Ewood Park and let them slug it out. Once done they can go to the pub and reminisce about old times, and leave us to lay his ghost to rest and get on with the future...
  6. Gartside was recently on 5-live explaining how he was involved in Burnley appoining Coyle.
  7. Play him up front or not at all, he's not a winger or wide midfielder and seems unfair to keep shoving him there. Can't fault his commitment though.
  8. Started watching just after his reign; yet seem more familiar with his time than his successors- perhaps testament to his success and legacies. Graham Taylor on 5-live a few minutes ago recounted Greaves telling him "there's no loyalty in football..." but said what a good man he was and seemed genuinely saddened. RIP
  9. Agreed- with our new found attacking status, reckon a guy with a half decent scoring record may be more useful than the Davies battering ram.
  10. Give Smolarek a run with Elmander; they've played together before. Try anything different
  11. Thought the fans were quite kind to Megson during the Everton game. No-ones cheering/singing about the economy/jobs etc. so why would they when the football's equally crap?
  12. Darren Fergusson Forget the obvious family connection: he's doing well and is probably destined to follow his father's footsteps. Take a chance now before someone else does
  13. Absolutely spot on; glad someone else spotted it too. Not a single goal from genuine open play- two flukes and the rest from set pieces. Diabolical
  14. First thing I said to the wife: "If that's THE Jim Mcdonagh, I once saw him score in a 3-0 win over Burnley!" She looked at me blankly....
  15. That was utter crap. IF one-nil wins were coming playing like that then fine- but they're not. The players seem to play within themselves, with fear. Jackburn too were awful. Merson was right; went to 4-4-2 and played a wonderful bit of football. After Arsenal Megson said Riga was ready and may have change to a 4-4-2. Great! He's not fookin played since. Still, given the ginger one's meteoric rise from the dole, maybe he'll get the Tottenham job- should be available soon!
  16. If we sit off and play too deep we'll be fooked next week. The commentator saw it- their midfield can all use the ball but can't win it back. Hope Megson was watching and tells our lot to press them, and have a go. (Stoke did second half) With a weekened back line, shattered confidence, and a hostile crowd a good result can be got- but not if we're too feckin negative!
  17. Both. Gardner futher forward, and Taylor in midfield 3, so he can arrive late and score goals from midfield. Like Nobby used to do.
  18. Off the field Megson's a joke- family fun day/gold line agents' do etc. On the field worse. Fundamentally, football; a competative team game, requires two teams to try to beat each other. Not one trying not to lose, and thus offering no fookin hope of winning games. This is the most tedious shite I've witnessed. Yes alright the football in the lower leagues wasn't always the best etc, etc, but it WASN'T PREMIERSHIP football. If Gartside truly did tell Sam to play better football because crowds were dropping etc, then what's he saying to Megson? Jonathon Greening gave a good insight into him as a manger before the WBA game in the Mirror, and it said everything. The guy is a DEMOTIVATOR. Sod sentiment, bite the bullet and get rid, and send Wigley et al with him. As for who comes instead, given a few days to clear the alcoholic haze and let the anger subside, I together with anyone on here could come up with a list of potential candidates.
  19. Steinsson turned up just in time for kick off and Davies on at half time
  20. Think they (players) should hand their heads in shame. Maybe they could all do a Mellberg, and cough up enough to buy EVERY junior S.T. holder /junior white a shirt. As for them needing to be at a training session- FFS, start pre-season training a day early then give them the fun day off! OR even start and finish the session early. Or is this likely to conflict with modern scientific training methods; with the lunar orbit screwing up fitness programs. An absulute shambles; if players behave like this then they have no respect; with no respect they cannot have the heart, and determination etc to perform. Please prove me wrong
  21. Paisley was from a different era, sadly. Players in the main were half decent, well paid but not devoid of any notion of reality like many now seem to be. Not sure he'd be the same now.
  22. United Sunderland End of season, knowing your teams safe, hoping for a better one next year.
  23. First thing I said when I saw it was "The bastards" Fundamentally a good idea, but flawed as pointed out by Bobcat etc. As NB says where's the feckin loyalty recognition, for those of us who paid out for STs for 20 years or maybe many more? If everyone has been clamouring for a singing section, then why does it need such discounts ? People will buy one anyway-won't they? Or is everyone else subsidising it? As for decent value- maybe in comparison to others, but ?400+ is still a lot of cash for many folk- a more even distribution of the discounts would be fairer.
  24. Perhaps Terry thought he needed some moisturiser for that angry looking scar tissue. He'll be floggin' phlegm to L'Oreal next
