  1. My mate, plus 2 more of his party got their wallets pinched whilst queuing up to get into the ground!!! Another friend got dipped in the Irish bar
  2. We looked like a team of journeymen last night, with no-one able to supply a 'killer' pass, and no-one to get on the end of it. I remember thinking at the Wigan match, I wouldn't really want any of their players, with the possible exception of Koumas. Other supporters watching us last night wouldn't have wanted any of our players A far cry from having the likes of Djorkaeff, Okocha etc.
  3. Me too! Went to OT to see us win 2-1 when Tony Dunne was captain for the day - can't remember if that was the same season or not.
  4. I agree that Nicky Hunt was MOM I also think that Diouf has never played a more disciplined game for us - constantly tracking back, trying to organise - immense. Only spoiled by giving away a needless free kick in the last minute, in a dangerous situation.
  5. Me + 1 out Wednesday 9:30 Back Friday 7:25
  6. Just checking the fixtures - surely the game against the scousers on 1st Dec will be moved as we play on the Thursday. Also, just realised what our last fixture is, and recall the last time our last match of the season was Chelsea away
  7. Heathrow-Munich Depart: 7-Nov-07 at 09:35 Arrive: 7-Nov-07 at 12:20 Munich-Heathrow Depart: 9-Nov-07 at 07:25 Arrive: 9-Nov-07 at 08:30 Got a hotel at Heathrow on Tues night for ?99 for 2, including 3 days parking We thought it was too cheap, but they had offers on Tuesday
  8. Me + 1 Out Wednesday Heathrow-Munich 2 nights in 4 star, back Friday morning ?117.50 each - Expedia
  9. Agree - Some just seemed to want to stand up, for the sake of standing up, and to be a bloody nuisance. More intent on watching their mates, than the match
  10. If we ever did appoint Pardew, it would waste my season ticket. I couldn't go and watch the Wanderers if he was in charge, as I detest the man so much.
  11. Worse still, Paul Youngs' singing voice has gone. We saw him at the Albert Halls a couple of years ago, and he couldn't sing to save his life. Was gutted, as he had a great voice. My wife walked out part way through as she couldn't stand it any more.
  12. Unfortunately 'Celebrate with R & R' or something - obviously aimed at the away supporters. I would also like to see the clock go 'negative' at the end of each half, so we can easily see how long of the added minutes have been played
  13. I think Sammy Hyppia would do a job - steadying influence etc
  14. Arse - meant to vote YES as I hate the bloody music - it makes us look like a bunch of amateurs, not helped by the fat guys. Just let us cheer (hopefully) - goals are what we go to watch - we don't need prompting
  15. More heard than seen In the 70's on the Burnden Terrace, there was a guy with a megaphone. He shouted 'Give it to Reid - Reid's free on the left', and then moved. Then 'Open your effing eyes referee - that was a foul', and then moved again. Just watching the coppers helmets in the crowd trying to find him was funny. Before we got married, and I educated my wife, I used to go with her to Maine Road. Stan Bowles, playing for QPR(?), came over to take a throw in, and with one voice, the Kippax sang 'Stanley Stanley wheres your wife, Stanley wheres your wife'? He turned to the crowed, shrugged his shoulders, and took the throw in. Finally, if anyone remembers Alan Groves playing for Oldham, he was in the paper as he had married a girl who was still at school. He came over to the Burnden Terrace to take a throw in and one guy shouted 'Get of the pitch you child sh*gging pervert' - god knows how he continued to play after that.
  16. We signed up for the hatton fight, for a tenner (I think) which gave us 3 months. I reckon we will can it at the end of the trial, if I can get through to them on the phone. It seems that for anything but subscription, you get told that all the operators are busy, and get cut off.
  17. Yep - that's the one
  18. Sabinis - cheers Bolty I couldn't remember. You presumably remember the Can-Can then, near Prestons
  19. Thought Tognerellis was on Churchgate - there was certainly an ice-cream parlour on Churchgate. Manfredis used to have an ice cream parlour on Daubhill.
  20. That would be the 'old' landlord, not the present incumbent. Flat Cap is no longer served unfortunately, due no doubt, to the arseole mentioned above. He reckoned he knew everything there was to know about running pubs - he had apparently run 'hundreds'. I don't think he ever cleaned the pub while he was there - the gents were a disgrace. He couldn't run a bath
  21. The Stax 50th anniversary Celebration CD, Cultural Amnesia by Clive James, and an electric car polisher for my new toy. Topped off by going to see Jimmy Carr in Liverpool last night. A good day all round.
  22. Hi, when you go to the address, don't open the file, download it, as the instructions say, and them import it Just opening it only imports the first fixture.
