  1. Doesn't some league - Italy maybe - have it that you have to be within a certain points margin of the team above to make playoffs? Or summat. That does sound daft.
  2. He could go to Celtic, be a success, and be King of the Jungle.
  3. statue just above the bloke in green's right shoulder
  4. well it's somewhere with a statue
  5. and we'd need a keeper, Cheval Given - just as it is here (well they don't give it you, you have to pay:
  6. England due: Alan Shergar and Frankel Lampard
  7. Liam Dash Runny Rosenthal (get a ) Shifton Noel-Williams
  8. Number 5's parents must have known he'd be quick
  9. Inverted fly netter in action
  10. Fly netters - it's the future! Like in 1984 when we stuffed Plymouth 7-2 and their keeper, Geoff Crudgington, ended up injured and playing up front due to the small number of subs back then having been used up. So just swap shirts and gloves during the match while a team member gets treated for a fake injury. You could then have false fly netters (where you just pretend to have done in, thereby confusing your opponents' game plan - but the two players would have to look like each other, thus performing a "twin pivot") and inverted fly netters (where the replacement keeper puts attackers off by hanging upside down from the bar).
  11. Bet his missus has been nagging him about it.
  12. Puts the current lot to shame seeing as he fought Ali then Frazier within 5 months of each other (on top of one earlier in the year - '73 - and two more before the year was out).
  13. getting my guess in early - Palace
  14. Billy Wrigglesworth. According to wiki 39 goals in 141 games for 9 different league teams. Only 5 foot 4 but with the eyes of a killer and hard as fuck no doubt. Died in Accrington.
  15. She'd need more than that!
  16. Aye. Went yesterday and I thought there was plenty enough to make your glass half full if you wanted. And so early as you rightly say - minded to think back to 16-17 season. 4 games in we were top on max points while Sheffield United were rock bottom with just the one. Fast forward to the end and they're top with a hundred, 14 ahead of us. Not saying we'll do that - nobody will this year. But this early on, all you can want is summat to clearly be able to build on, and win them next two winnable home games and that base is there. Then we'll see...
  17. Have we ever had anyone born in Up Holland though??
  18. A Swarm of New Asteroids (Video-EN) Over 2000 new asteroids detected in the first 10 hours of the Vera Rubin scope using its 3 Giga-pixel camera
  19. Aye the chess guy (a game I'm shit at and don't have much interest in usually, to say the least) was interesting when he did videos of Alpha Zero battering the world's 2nd best chess computer a while back. It was interesting how he got across that both were playing at a level no human could ever match.
  20. Aye. You're travelling 2000+ mph, you're 200,000 miles from the earth, the the 13 cubic m craft you're in has just blown up and thus you're not sure exactly what direction you're going in. Response: "Houston, we had a problem". They must have needed the whole Saturn V power just to get his balls off the ground.
  21. Aye, top mon. "Hero" gets bandied about far too often but he was the real deal, and by all accounts a cracking bloke as well.
  22. Yeh, it was the first day of the season thing that got me thinking about the WBA game. Beautiful sunny day as i recall. Seem to remember a similar one at Southampton moons ago. Don't think anything surreal happened, apart from the locals.
  23. One of my most surreal experiences at a Bolton game 😄 I suppose I could ask for others - the paraglider against Arsenal; beating Swindon 7-0 and then hearing that Radio Swindon's commentator had started crying during the broadcast; meeting the Ant Hill Mob for the first time. Must be loads more.
  24. get this mon in FA Cup: Jamie Cureton, the ex-Premier League striker playing at 49 - BBC Sport
