I wondered when the 4 at the back shout would come again. Imagine we did do it. Who sits in front, breaking up play and distributing, i.e. our Rodri, our Rice, our Guimaraes, our Hojberg? I think that's where we'd fall down as none of our current CMs are that kind of player. And christ, imagine how exposed Rico would be without two other CBs. Glad Evatt has called out our fanbase for howling bloody murder during the difficult period of the 2nd half. If that was an away game, there would be grumbles, sure, but I'm certain there would be more supportive noises than whatever that mob lynching was. How are the players supposed to reset and focus with thousands of their own "fans" screaming every decision they make? That cheer for the long ball was up there as one of the most embarrassing moments I've felt as a Wanderer; and that includes the thumping at Accrington. Especially pathetic as said long ball still just gave Barnsley possession.
