Anybody who went to the Freight Rover finals V Bristol City and Torquay that are now ridiculing this competition need to give their heads a wobble, can you imagine the players saying "it's a shit cup

When did we all get so snobbish? 🤣 we are where we are currently and the chance to see your club at Wembley in any capacity doesn’t come around too often

  • Team losing in a quarter final trying to get back in it

I don't.

I've made my feelings clear about the competition, but I would never want my team to lose.

Me neither normally but for this comp I’ll make an allowance…. If we get to the final going to have to go as my lads up for it. FFS!

Prob just jump in it for the semi if we were at home. If not wait til the final 🤣

Yeah but it's just for something to do in January to break up the sober monotony of doing nowt else

Take the premier league U21 teams out and it gets more respect, until then it’s a no from me.

Exactly where I'm at.

Although if we were to get there, no doubt I'd buckle and go. Club deserves to be backed especially with all the shite we've had over the last few years.

I'm going for the 1st time and will be a bit miffed if we don't get to Wembley now

They’re all out now so at least the possibility of having to boycott the final is thankfully off the agenda.

I’ve been in favour of the approach of going to the other games and just boycotting the U21 ones, if nothing else to try and make it more of a stark comparison in gates.

Would much prefer the top half dozen Conference teams enter instead of the U21 teams as used to be the case but the EFL are so desperate to keep the Premier League clubs onside for the solidarity payments

If rather show my displeasure that premier league u21s are involved by boycotting it…. We’re BWFC and playing U21 teams is tinpot.

I'm going . Enjoyed the couple I've been to especially the one I got in for free. My youngest is excited we may get to Wembley and I'll be glad to take him if we do.

Plus and this is no word of a lie I'm pretty sure I've seen Kachunga score a goal.

In one.

It's also lost some of it's shine, as clubs take cups less seriously in general.

My first game in this competition will be the final.

Agreed 100%

As previously discussed, my Wembley record is something like been 4 or 5, W-0. D-0, L-4 or 5.

I'm not sure I should be going

How/Why did you miss the Torquay game? - that really surprises me

I have a feeling it was during my initial fire brigade training and there was always shitloads of preparation required for the next week.

reading 95 will never be topped

i'd have been 8

Missed that one because MrsD was just about to pup with our first sprog and "we" decided it was perhaps best to stay home and watch on telly.

That turned out to be a good decision then 🙂

8 as well, but Reading is an odd one. Yes, the end result was astonishing and will live forever in fans memories. But looking objectively, we did basically fuck it up - if you're 2 down and facing a penalty then 9 time out of 10 it's curtains (especially when you wait until the last 15 mins to get your first and then the last minute to squeeze in the equalizer). Torquay was obviously great to win summat and also show we could muster a good few going that far after years of averaging less than 5k at home. Liverpool was a good effort and good day (from what we encountered anyhow it seemed a mither-free atmosphere around it). But the rest...apart from Villa I guess until that moment.

The only time I've been to Wembley with Bolton was a lovely game back in 2011 against Stoke...

You can see maybe why id want to go again to get a hopefully better experience

my attendance at the final would be touch and go depending on the actual date which from reading this thread is currently a mystery

my Wembley record is:

Won 1: Reading

Lost 4: Liverpool, Watford, Villa, Stoke

(did both at Cardiff also, W1 L1)

I've basically been to every game there since Liverpool 95, I don't think I've missed any out, but we tend to lose on the big stage in my expereince
