To compare Tomo to Muamba is just ludicrous imo.

only way to do this would be for @gonzocollate's the results with and without George, and then see how they stand against Muamba's

GT has only played 90 mins against 2 sides (from 11 games) in the top 10 in league one.

He has a cracking record playing 80 min + mainly against shite opposition.

In summary -

Evatt doesn’t trust him

He is not as good as other CMs in the squad.

Decent squad player

Decent squad player

Dion Charles has only played 90 minutes 6  times against all sides in league one one, from 35 starts.

He has scored in 2 games (in 10 games) against current top 6 clubs (in the league), but has a cracking record, mainly against shite opposition.

I guess Evatt doesnt trust him either.

OR

its a poor argument you are making.

Thomasson is unlikely to become a England all time grea, but he's holding his own in the league we are currently in.

How many times has Evatt started Thomason vs him coming off the bench 🙄

He's started 12. Come on as sub 6 times (66% start rate).

others:

Josh Sheehan Start : 10 as sub :11 (47%)

Dapo Start: 13/9 (59%)

Bod Start : 8/13 (38%)

Tequila : 13/22 (37%)

Keiran Lee 20/9 (69%)

MJ 17/7 (70%)

Dempsey 29/7 (80%)

Morley : 30/7 (81%)

Vic : 8/4 (66%)

so hes starting at a higher rate than Evatts BFF Katcha, and the same rate as our big Jan signing Vic, ever so slightly less than Kl & MJ.

I'm working from home, and bored.

Maybe Evatt doesnt rate anyone ?

We have played 42 games and he has started 12.

28.5%

Has he not been injured for a large percentage of those games?

GT this season:

P22 W13 D6 L3

Red card 1

Yellow 5

Goals 2

Looks fantastic - but he was sub 16/22 games and frequently came on to shut up shop when we were already ahead :)

The most laughable criticisim I hear of Thomason is "When he runs, he looks at his feet" - as though his eyes are permanently stuck looking straight ahead, and he only has a tiny tunnel of vision in the direction his face is pointed.

The best is yet to come from George. My only hope for him is that he reaches his full potential - never be a World Cup winner but he could be a really useful player for us.

TBF, he missed 19 league games between getting injured against Bristol R, and making his comeback at wembley.

so started 12 (52%) played in 18 (78%) of the 23 games he's been available for.

Obviously Evatt doesnt trust him.

Absolute banter the way you could see him lift the world cup and you would still say he was shit

Jeez Horwich. Is he bumming your son or something ?

You've got some personal downer on a kid who's proven you wrong continually & you can't accept that he's a very decent player at this level. You went very quiet in that good run he had before his injury. Now you're counting games recovering from his kneecap being dislocated as proof that he's shite.

No-one is claiming he's a World beater but pull the wool from your eyes man.

He's mellowing

Previously, the claim was he was a North West Counties player and now he's League One at best

He is not “A very decent player at this level”

If he was, he would be starting most weeks.

Dion Charles is a very decent player at this level.

I would class him as average/above average.

That won’t get us promoted.

A good squad player, as his record is good against average opposition.

He will be on minimum wage, so glad we have him.

I think my wife is on just above minimum wages so she might go to match and drop him a couple of quid.

Quite often last season, he would play when others got injured or when the team was out of form. Sometimes with other 'non first picks' or in a side that had gone off the boil.

Nevertheless, he has matured and earned his place. I remember matching his win record at one point and it was noteable how many victories he was involved in.

Obviously only a rough use of stats and at a selected period, but if that's good enough to show he's shite, then it's also good enough to show Southgate what he's missing out on!!

Nobody is saying he's currently anything other than a decent young fringe player with potential for development. He's 22 ffs, and you wrote him off when he was 19.
