The Managerial Roundabout

Shrewsbury potting Cotterill is an odd one,

Spurs possibly seeking a new manager around Christmas, not sure how he will do.

Gerrard to Leeds is rumoured.

Uri Geller to Wigan?

I know he’s not a manager but Standard Liege fans seem gutted we’ve got Fergal Harkin to the extent that some are saying he saved them from relegation despite having no budget. Sounds positive.

  • Are you serious? The guy brought us some fucking brilliant moments  that we’ll never forget. Yeah, it didn’t end up great but ffs.

If he learnt anything it was, Shirley, NOT to get involved with him again ?

I reckon his stock is bad. Only way I could see him getting the job is either one of 2 ways.

Huddersfield put Dion Charles in charge of the manager search.

Or

Sharon buys Huddersfield for him.

I think IE will have to bide his time till the Summer merry-go-round gets going. I'm not convinced he'll get back in at anything better than L2 level.

I can see him getting a L2 club that are under achieving/get decent crowds for L2 - eg Tranmere, Grimsby, Notts County, Chesterfield.  For all his faults he's quite high profile and that might appeal to a team trying to get out of L2, the publicity will immediately raise the profile of the club and help attract players.

I’m pretty sure he’ll find somewhere this summer. Or 10 games into next season when sacking season begins.

I’d guess his ‘football’ stock is top end of league one. It’s his ‘personal’ stock that’s floating around Sunday league level. Depends on the chairman I suppose.

He'd without a doubt be of interest to clubs in our league

H His personal 'foibles' will be well known ... indeed, the stuff of boardroom giggling.

Certainly known by fans all over.

It IS, vaguely possible, someone will take him on.

He'll never get the sort of protection or support he did here.

Top 10.

What was Evatt earning here 400/500K a year, he'll be taking a massive drop in salary as I can't see him getting more than around 100K if he was to manage in League 2 or lower league 1 level.

I’m not sure it was quite that much but he’ll have to make a choice. Plenty of league one clubs would look at his achievements in league one (play off regular / progressive team) and give him a chance. It’ll be a big pay cut for sure. But if he’s serious about progressing as a manager he’ll have to take the best offer. Financially, his pay off here will have bought him some time. But I’m fairly certain he has to keep working, due to ‘squandering’ his playing career earnings.

Plenty of under achieving league one clubs where he might be a fit - Hudds, Barnsley, Rotherham, Peterboro as and when things come up.

But you’re right. Prob around the 100-200k mark I’d expect.

Im almost certain he’ll bite us on the arse next season.

If his record in big games for us are any indication, I'm fairly certain he hasn't got the minerals to get a team in to the right mentality for a revenge game.

I understand that Sharon cleared his debts with a loan & gifts and the first thing he did was to start betting again.

He also has a divorce to fund.

He needs the money alright

Against that, they might also look at the backing and support he got here which was more than most could dream of offering. And ultimately he failed (harsh i know as he did a lot of good things).

Add in the regular red cards for charging onto the pitch to confront officials and opposition players 🤦‍♂️, and i dunno.

Then again it is football we're talking about 😄

There was a loan. But I’m pretty sure it would have been removed from any settlement. £100k I seem to recall.

You may know more than me about his gambling after that point. Surprised he had time between managing a football team and other extra curricular activities.

He had all those days off don't forget.

... & bets are easily done on line. His resumption came from a few sources, including at the hotel & backroom staff.

Quite a lot of clubs have changed manager recently, so maybe fewer that will be ditching someone in May. There'll no doubt still be a few that pull the trigger if they fall short or fall through the trapdoor.

Rumour around these parts that our head of recruitment Jimmy Dickinson is on his way to you after falling out with Muslic over the laughable state of our squad.

As in that Muslic is responsible for a weak squad ... or Dickinson is ?

It’s not hugely imbalanced and over-indexed on soft bastards prancing round with socks round their ankles is it?

If so, he can stay where he is thanks.

Dickinson, we have been gambling on data driven analytics to find young players we can sell on for profit. Only Whittaker paid off while we have half a dozen not worth squad place.

That’s the crux, Muslic only been involved since mid January and brought in three ugly Eastern European bastards.

They sound great. Only we could find an Eastern European who happens to be less of a bastard than our other English fairies

Sick of this analytical data shit what happened to scouts watching players and feeding back to the club .

Fellas clearly got a lifelong addiction.

Hope he gets all help he needs.

I don't think it will be to us given we have this new Belgian guy coming in who I assumed would have been in charge of recruitment
