The Managerial Roundabout

Shrewsbury potting Cotterill is an odd one,

Spurs possibly seeking a new manager around Christmas, not sure how he will do.

Gerrard to Leeds is rumoured.

Uri Geller to Wigan?

I know he’s not a manager but Standard Liege fans seem gutted we’ve got Fergal Harkin to the extent that some are saying he saved them from relegation despite having no budget. Sounds positive.

  • Are you serious? The guy brought us some fucking brilliant moments  that we’ll never forget. Yeah, it didn’t end up great but ffs.

Now Nancy, at Celtic exits. Now looking for their 4th manager of this season.

8 matches, 7 loses ... 32 days. Less than Liz Truss would get.

O'Neill in until the end of the season.

I don’t think they get the full contract paid up.

Its usually 12 months pay which isn’t too bad but they sometimes have a clause in it that the payment is reduced if they get another job within the 12 months.

pretty sure its the balance of contract paid up

The correct decision, but how on earth have MUFC got a Bolton born Blackburn winger hiring and firing a novice from a farmers league and choosing the next one

Danny Kelly said on radio today its normally 6 months of the contract for most of the big boys.

Can be less.

Most contracts contain performance causes nowadays

Agent Wilcox is doing a fine job.

I know it's as unlikely as winning the lotto but can someone plant the seed in Wilcox's head that St. Wilfrid of Nancy is a very good coach and was misunderstood by the bhoys club?

I’d totally forgotten that Jim Ratcliffe spent millions getting Dan Ashworth to United from Newcastle to oversee football decisions but sacked him almost immediately when he said that bringing in Amorim would be a bad idea.

Give it to Rooney, club leg end.

Liam Rosenior to Chelsea on a 6 year contract.

He was Rooneys assistant at Derby 3 years ago.

aye, apparently he was the brains behind that whole operation from what I read / heard

Not too shabby with him recently getting sacked by Hull for doing a decent job.

Doubt he'll last long like.

Hull fans I know were glad to see the back of him, absolute dire football and had the likes of Fabio Carvalho on loan from Liverpool yet they didn't make the play offs

As said he was the brains behind Rooney at Derby, like Mjallby to Neil Lennon

They got him from a club they already own so will probably just move him onto another one

They finished 7th behind Leicester, Ipswich, Leeds, Southampton, WBA and Norwich.  Possibly over achieved.

Cyrus Christie played 27 times for them that year - maybe a cheeky bid incoming as back up to Reece James?

As i recall he was well backed and promotion was the aim, maybe add in the dire football so they potted him

I've no reason to fight his corner, but being well backed in the championship aiming for promotion just seems to be the way for most clubs, eg Birmingham in bottom half and I don't think Hull spent at their level.  Did get Delap on loan but only scored 8.  Signed Billy Sharp and Aaron Connolly too, hardly big signings for that level.

Their first cash signing was Xavier Simons from Chelsea! He went on loan to Fleetwood soon after.

Anyway he'll be gone before Christmas, we all know that.

Chelsea & their managers.

Only 5 managers in English League history have won 2 major trophies in one season only to be sacked within 12 months.

The managers were ... Mourinho, Ancelotti, di Matteo, Mourinho and Maresca.

The clubs were all Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea and Chelsea.

Though, to nit-pick, that's only 4 different managers.

... & correct, there's no way Leroy is going to make it. The most important thing in his contract will be its termination clause.

Are we counting the Community Shield and Club World Cup that nobody else was invited to?

They've brought him from a team they already own, no compo paid, if he does shit they'll just shift him onto another club they own, or keep him on the books but not as manager and if anyone wants him they'll want compo as he's still under contract at Chelsea

Bit like Watford few years ago, their owners had clubs in Italy and Spain so when they signed the likes of Vdrya from one of their other clubs they just basically just transfered money from one account to another
