I tried Brewdogs answer to Guinness yesterday, Black Heart.

For those have haven't tried it.... Don't bother.

Too watery & not as good a creamy head as Guinness.

I've tried it. The head looks like that RAAC concrete they're taking out of schools.

It tasted like it too.

i think theyve dropped the falling over element by 10% too

sierra nevada is another one thats gone shite. I suspect for similar reasons.

I know this may sound a bit out there to the moneymen but this is the reason I don't buy it anymore.

I wonder if there are people that are more prone to buying it now it’s all 🇬🇧? I suspect they must do.

This answers a lot, I thought it was just me. I think they have pushed the vanilla flavour in the UK one a little bit too far and it overtakes everything. At least I don't remember it being such a strong flavour.

Alcohol duty is calculated on ABV, isn’t it?

If Leffe drops 10% in strength, the company makes more money by selling at the same price.

shrinkflation strikes again.

Not sure. It is based on percentage points so 6-6.9 is the the same pence per litre. So in this case no change, happy to be corrected though.

Yes it is.

How much was Alhambra out of interest. Love that stuff. Always seems cheap as chips. My new favourite is Augustiner though!!! Woof

A mate of mine had me walking all over Belamondinio for 1.50Euro Alhambra one year. Good drink but the for him the price was the thing. We walked past 2Euro Alhambra to save 10 bob.

It warms up that people are out and enjoying €1.50 Alhambra even if I’m not. Even heard talk of €1 tackle which would be the dream with only fools on!!!

With Bisto gravy and Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire puddings.

None of that EU muck

  • 1 month later...

I bought one of them nitrosurge things today and have been using it on some normal draught Guinness cans and some Black Heart cans using the pin trick.

Definitely seems to give a creamier pint and better head and the like but might not have been the night to do a scientific test.

That’s one of the greatest beers ever created.

They do another called “He was an interior decorator” that is actually marginally better.

May be an image of drink and text

Tried a couple of these but it's not my cup o' tea. I prefer something much lighter and a touch more than 3.7%

That's not me at the back by the way.
