Where's that ale thread gone?

I've just been on Morrison's at Harwood.

What the fuck is this all about?

Ma Bessies Apple Pie and Custard IPA.

£2.50 a tin.

Micro bar in arndale is good for German stuff.

Albert Schloss is good for German stuff.

Sandistas other end of Deansgate does pints of Alhambra.

On the last one

Do you mean Sandinista between Cross Street and St Anne's Square

If so, great little place that, was our after works drink bar of choice when I worked in Manc

Yeah that’s the one. Love it in there.

£4.05 for a paltry Carling in my local now.

£4.40 in the Golden Eagle.

Go premium and you're well over a fiver.

I'll never not love a pint in a pub but genuinely couldn't do it like these lads in vans do every late afternoon.

It's an expensive hobby. It must be pricing folk out now.

Costs me £30 to sit in a pub on my own for a couple of hours. Can get 30 cans for that or pay for a month's gym fee.

Exactly my point. It's a bottom of the rung session lager at nearly £5 a pint. Absolute madness and unsustainable.

Think Neck Oil is the dearest average at £7 in the UK.

Pubs are closing every day :(

Sorry pal, I was presuming that you are supping Carling....

That Neck Oil is the most horrible beer I've ever tried.

Nice glass though, so i kept that, still got it.

You're right but it won't keep the pubs going :(

Throughout Jan spoons in Cleveleys were doing £2 a pint. Pubs near it were dead.

I’m retired now and Spoons in Howfen is my regular and yes, because it’s cheap. Still do the others though and they are all busy ish

It is, people seem to rave about it, and I just can't get on with it at all - it's also about £7.50 a pint in the one pub near me that sells it

Funnily enough they are in right old wrangle with the council.

They were issued a compulsory purchase order for the new multiversity thing in town.

W3 have found new premises but the council won't grant them a licence for where it is. So now they're refusing to move.

i like it on draft

cant take to the cans and tbh i wouldn't really buy them anyway

this weekends home drinking is krombacher, spaaten and weistephener

maybe one duvel and one chimay while i cook

Most these so called "premium" beers are brewed in the U.K. anyway. Moretti (Manchester), Stella, Becks & Corona (South Wales), Madri (Yorkshire). They're shite. Give me a pint of real ale any day. At least you know what you're getting.

And a Belgian beer always goes down well.

That Bones is my favourite gay fad brewdog bollocks type beer.

Where is Staropremen brewed? That's my favourite at the moment.......

And that's the problem. I've said above about having a 'couple' these days. The couple can and does extend to three or four, but at £4+ a go for an hour on my own it's hard to justify to Mrs. F.

I still don't fancy cans though, and the gym even less.
