I think Sky can move games without consulting clubs up to a certain time cut-off point.

After the cut-off point, the games can still be moved if both clubs agree.

The money Pompey will get will more than outweigh a small drop in ticket sales and the small amount of money we get from Sky is more than the zero pounds you normally get from an away game.

Money 1 Fans 0, as per fucking usual.

Wasn't that Bournemouth away one moved late on as well a few years back for Sky as they were getting promotion? No-one was arsed like as we were a zombie of a club at the time.

It does stink this, and we were never going to object to it either.

Said it before though, this is probably going to be our last ever season that looks anything like traditional (and it'll still be a mess once international postponements are rescheduled) sounds like a Saturday 3pm will be a novelty.

Thinking back

When Leeds were last in the championship before now, they were regularly on sky

Their owner got pissed off as whilst they got compo he claimed it was less than what they lost in gate receipts

Told them to stop showing them

Sky didn't give a fuck

Wasn’t Charlton shifted over Easter back in the championship days at very late notice

Yes, I planned my stag do around Easter Saturday in London - got shifted to good Friday to help them in their relegation fight (fixture backlog and were playing Monday).

Thought something like that though didn’t the club offer something back to the fans

Aye will only get worse with the new deal next season, noticed Blackburn have had Watford & Norwich away Sunday lunch times wtf

think it will be a case of really picking & choosing away games and not being that weak man giving in😀

Yeah thought so

lets say 26quid and 500 go Portsmouth (top end based on adults) 13k fuck all is it

i think we only get 10k for being on?

but i do agree, that late change outside the rules is cack

if it was after you bought tickets but within the deadlines, id say suck it up :)

Yeah 10k fuck all but taking a slight hit for me is more important than pissing folk off, anyway rant over

As much as I’m pissed off about the switch (still not swapped trains yet), I think it needs to be viewed in the context of the overall TV money received rather than the specific £10k for this game

See the point. I suppose budgets will be drawn up taking into consideration the overall sky payments, so to an extent, they've got clubs by the short and curlies.

I'm not entirely sure about this.

Isn't this an 'extra' TV appearance, thrown in by Sky at short (ie past the deadline) notice, meaning we could have turned it down?

As part of the (sizeable) distribution at the start of the season, we basically accept that Sky might want to show us once in a while so got to live with it having taken the money.

The fact it was moved outside of the EFL’s rules is another matter altogether and I’m disappointed in the club not kicking up a shit storm.

Unbeaten in the league Pompey, what a message that would send out to the rest of the league.

They have 3 league games before they play us, and looking at their results, they must be due a defeat? A load of 1 goal wins and late winners, which is impressive, but this isn't a team blowing their opponents away.  Also same as us, only played 7 away out of 16.  3 goalless draws, two 1-0  wins, and were 2 down at Reading.  I'll stick my neck out and say they won't be unbeaten after they've played us!

Agree; somehow I think Blackpool will do them Saturday
