Said on Saturday that Toal is poor on the right; his fuck up for the Orient goal. Missing Jones and Forester. Evatt needs to get recruits in ASAP

We've played fewer matches than most of them and all

They are the wins that define seasons.

Neither team could string two passes together in the middle of 50mph winds that was bending the corner flag to the floor.

We will look back on tonight and think that was the kick up the arse we needed.

Sometimes youve got to ride your luck and win ugly.

It doesnt get much uglier than that.

Absolutely spot on.

It was never going to be pretty.

Every game played tonight would have been ugly, impossible to be fluid in and out of possession with those winds.

Did what we needed to. Another win after a poor defeat.

Table looking healthy again.

Sets it up nice for Saturday

Problem is does the club have guns to bring players in as for me we need 3 new signings.

We look jaded is the main worry. Need a few new faces freshen it up. The win was the most important thing but the upcoming run won't be pretty if we play like we did at orient and tonight.

Funds not guns bloody predictive text ffs

Shout out for the pillared Williams tonight. He put a shift in and was about the only bit of energy going forward.

We do seem to be going rather direct at the minute. Probably due to men missing at the back and replacements not being as comfortable on the ball I suppose.

If Williams and Dempsey are injured we might need more

Hopefully some confidence will have been restored.

Bloody difficult to play in wind like that too.

Get them rested for a day or two now.

It was unseasonally warm there tonight, I nearly took my scarf and gloves off (the brandy helped)

And people don’t get why folk want out of other competitions

Agree Jacket, certainly didn’t suit our game whilst their lumping it up caused mayhem with that wind. If it’s calm on Saturday I’m sure we’ll be much better, just hoping everybody’s fit and of course we’ll have Gomez back too if he’s fit to be in the squad.

Our best outfield player for me. How rapid did he look when he overtook their player haha

Squad just isn’t big enough; anyway see you at Carlisle

I get that but quite a few of our wins have been jammy to say the least, whereas all our losses have been well deserved. That's what makes the fans wonder are we as good as the stats say we are.

Good that we're grinding out wins though against the dross so we are in as good a position as possible before Feb and Mar challenges against the better teams.

Shock result that, I fully expected Derby to pull it back. Barnsley on the rise again now though.

Said Barnsley weeks ago

going about their business quietly

Soon play them we need to improve

Williams went straight down th tunnel with a couple of members of staff

Use the squad a bit better would be my answer. Why have a larger squad if the first 11 hardly changes? And why have a B team at all if they can't get on in the BSM?

The squad we've got now is the best in the league, just needs managing well. As it is I think a few have been used too much so we might need one or two in Jan, but just for numbers rather than quality.

And they will play the high press and give us no time on the ball !

The problem is we have some average players that when they aren’t on form really hamper us.

I don’t get Paris at all. we needed more in midfield.

is Thomasson now banned

All about the wins at the minute so with many fixtures piled up, but that was very much one of our nine lives used up.

Barnsley will be a big problem for us if we end in the play offs. Did a number on us this season and I've not seen anything yet this season to suggest we've improved against that type of upper mid table team that presses high.

Absolute must get top 2

Agree with that (between him and Charles). I’m not a big fan of his but to be balanced, he played really well tonight and it was more akin to his form from the first 4-5 games.

I don’t know what it is with him, there are just certain games where he almost looks like he can’t be arsed, it’s like he’s just got out of bed and walked on the pitch. Other games (like tonight) he ran his arse off.

Tough game that, as much as the defence looked all over the place it’s another clean sheet and the blocks at the end were brilliant. Midfield were nullified by Cheltenham / weather and also looked knackered and the forwards I thought put in a really good shift - Charles probably the stand out but he also managed to show us the best and worst of him.

One thing I just can’t get on board with, and I’m fine with playing out from the back - Santos’ straight ball into the forwards which on most occasions gets picked off by the defender up Vic/Charles’ arse and inevitably ends up with them on the counter because we’ve pushed up the pitch. I just can’t see that Evatt wants him to play that pass with such danger around it but he plays at least one every game and then usually ends up scrambling to make up for it - shits me up every time!

Massive 3 points, off to Carlisle we go to go top of the league!

No disrespect to Carlisle but we should have enough to get the points

barnsley however we need a massive improvement and possibly picked up another injury or two
