Because Evatt won’t sign players with bollocks or who will think for themselves and do their own thing. They have to fit into his system or they don’t get picked and if they don’t like it they do a Sarce, Doyler, Declan or Dapo. ☹️

The last 3 transfer windows have been rubbish, the squad is worse.

he’s signed nudreluv (or however you spell it) Jerome , Vic and Collins, you can’t make so many poor signings, (Collins not playing in his preferred position) as well as too many light weight midfielders and wingbacks.

I can take defeats. But the worrying aspect and the recurring theme Is the manner of them.

I've been a big supporter of Evatt and in still behind him, but there's undoubtedly a lot of questions to be answered around the team and recent performances.

My biggest worry is, yes we're still a league 1 team, with league 1 players and far from the "finished article"

But this is Evatts 4th season with us now. He's been backed wholeheartedly by Sharon and even more so in January with no results to show for it.

We really shouldn't still be questioning the style and the entirety of our game 4 years in. Things happen yes, teams adapt. But it doesn't seem like there is any really progress on how we play.

We're lucky Derby have been just as bad. But we are really at danger here of throwing away such a great opportunity for promotion.

We've got the best squad in the league, players to choose from in every position, yet we look so lost.

Even the games we have won this year, we have struggled immensely, the players look anxious, unsure and it's just not really happening. Promotion teams wouldn't have capitulated like we did against Blackpool and definitely wouldn't have lost today.

For all our different opinions, I think we can all agree that there's something just not right?

Personally yes I am entertained. Not necessarily tonight but overall nobody can argue with the position we're in . We deserve it too. It's the poorest league 1 because it suits your narrative. You can't quantify that. 

Derby have just lost two in a row. Portsmouth have lost two in a row earlier this year.  It happens. If we lose against Wigan and Blackpool but get promoted who gives a fuck. 

Bottom line for me is I'd rather get relegated than turn into a long throw long ball team like Barnsley. Fuck that.

Tonight was tedious, but made worse by the fact it was Wigan. I still struggle to get worked up about them, they clearly had nothing else to go for this season and what we faced was a perfectly executed game plan from a bona fide bogey team.

Nobody’s suggested we turn into a long ball team but good managers have systems and a squad that are flexible enough to allow changes when somethings not working. Evatt never does that.

I respectfully disagree 

yes we may have churned out some results recently but the overall level of performances have been piss poor. When Evatt came in he promised “edge of your seat football” and maybe aside from Carlisle I can’t really remember coming away from the ground thinking “we were superb today” or “that was what we wanna see” for months. 

there’s a big difference in being happy we got a result and happy with the performance. 
 

Yes we are 3rd but that’s a bare minimum of where we should expect to be. It feels like it isn’t a race to be one of the best 2 but a race to be the 2 least shittest and we’re not even succeeding in that
