But how can you say IE hasn’t galvanised the club when we’ve had record season ticket sales and away followings this season and despite the costs of everything 32k to Wembley in 10 days? Had we won on

I am just hoping I tone back the aways. £800 at the weekend isn’t ideal when everything is going up. Aways are £150 a pop now really so somethings got to give. No point spunking all that money to see 100000000 passes on the 18 yard box

aye, it's a proper expensive do, trains are a joke from price to reliability

i've already narrowed down my aways to about 6 for the coming season

I reckon on the whole is knocking on 7k

Add in the variety of potential kick off times could be strange season ahead.

If Huddersfield away is not a 3pm Saturday and at least 1 London trip also decent for travelling  I will be fucked off.

Broke a long term promise to myself never to go to Wigan or Blackpool again, think that can be reintroduced.

Boro in Cardiff is up there for me and never gets mentioned.

Obviously doesn't come close to some in the spineless shithouse stakes but that killed me that day.

We will never get a better chance of silverware.

We really are a losing football club… something wrong with the mentality… remember Rioch arriving and changing that mindset… we need someone who can galvanise the club like Rioch did.

Apart from the time we got promoted under Evatt and won the pizza cup

Had we won on Saturday, which we really should have, we’d all be singing it from the rafters. I 100% accept that a number of things need to change next year after the disappointment over Wembley but let’s not exaggerate the situation as worse than it is.

Wow.

Did he sell 32k?

Record season tickets?

Big away followings?

Did we win on Sat?

Are you exaggerating his influence?

Well he's certainly been behind the whole thing.

Whether he has the ability to see the job through remains to seen and will be debated till the cows come home.

We didn't get promoted, finish 5th the 3rd without him did we?

The job still needed doing and he did it .....till this season of course.

IE said quite early on in his tenure that it was his intention that kids would be seen wearing Wanderers shirts rather than City, United and Liverpool shirts. I reckon he’s got that going in the right direction (until the blip on Saturday)

We know we’re in for a fairly successful season in 24/25 and will win more often than not. That’s a great way of building rapport and support. We need to try to make top two this time.

Not at all. Are you saying that he’s had no effect on these things?

IE is absolutely excellent at the galvanising side of it. I agree re mentality.

He’s like a typical Sales Manager and  the town has bought into the dream.

Unfortunately he’s been proved to be all talk with little substance behind the long words and patronising.

Tactically naive, stubborn and one-dimensional. Mentally weak too, which rubs off on his team.

I really couldn’t give a flying fuck how much you supposedly love the club and the town and the fans etc….

Just get us promoted and shut the fuck up.

FWIW I think he will walk anyway.

I don’t think he can do the job required of getting us out of L1. Ever.

He'll certainly never have a better chance than he had last season.

No he’s reached his limit

and what makes it worse is that it was on a plate for him and he failed

Can't disagree with any of that.

It's shit or bust for him now.

Reckon he will need to set his vision and plan out to the board Big style and do a bit of soul searching himself.

He was certainly feeling the pressure earlier in the season.

Will IE be prepared to commit to such fundamental changes though, especially if he may not consider our failure is down to him, just players not delivering on his plans? If you’re as committed and confident in your beliefs as IE did it’s really difficult to admit you got it wrong. He may decide it’s easier to take up one of the offers he’s likely to have to continue elsewhere?

I'd wager number of people doing this is negligible/zero

I think if its anyone, it would be relatively new holders. If your an older type weve been through this shit before, its part of being a Bolton fan. I wouldnt expect anyone on here will be giving their season ticket back.

Aye, and it's the knowledge you pass on....

My 12 year old nephew was really glum on the way out on Saturday, we had to have the "this is all part of being a Bolton fan" chat with him.

He'll be back in his seat at the start of the new season, next to us.

But don't now just dismiss the progress we've made under him and FV

There are huge parallels with him and England's Southgate journey.

I've commented a few times to people that we seem to have a a better proportion of men:women and a LOT of young fans who attend matches. It's a long term thing and it's working.

Both my wife and daughter say they're not football fans, they're Bolton fans.. neither will entertain the idea of watching women's football. Daughter refers to it as "Rubbish" and "Not really football".. There's four of us go, because we are a family club, no worries about taking my lad to Wembley and when I did lose my rag and swore on saturday, I found myself apologizing to the family in front.

We're turning into a proper family club and that's what will keep us going, fair few Ex united now donning Stockport colours, and city fans just appear, like united ones did in the 90's.. They're often not in it for the long haul.

Through thick and thin

Once in never out.

Anyone throwing their season ticket away isn't watching us for the right reasons, and needs to give themselves a long hard look in the mirror.

All true ...

... But Saturday wasn't the first time an opposing manager has completely nullified us. That fat cunt at Stevenage did exactly the same not too long ago which resulted in Santos standing on the ball for the majority of the game.

I can only see it happening more and more next season too if he remains.

Think there seems to be a common consensus that he's the weak link, and IE will want to keep his job,

To keep fan's onside RS is going to have to go..

The fact we've had random players apologizing and RS hasn't speaks volumes and shows his lack of leadership,
