Birmingham have £3.4m bud rejected for Hannover defender Phil Neumann

I think they will walk it. Already spent nearly 5.5 million, nearly 1.5 mil of that was on two goalies!

Thats true with the dirties, but, generally it helps. Brum are by far the hottest favourites for years to win the league.

Yes money does help but doesn't always work out and if it doesn't the shit soon hits the fan especially in the lower leagues

I know what you mean, and it could all go tits up but generally I think it’s proven in this league that money rises to the top.

The one unknown for Brum is their manager (Chris Davies?).  If they still had Mowbray or Rowett, added to the money and squad, yes they'd piss it.  If Davies is the next Rob Edwards or John Moushino (unknowns now proven), they'll piss it.

Hopefully Davies is more of an Ian Foster (3 months at Plymouth) or Neil Collins (Barnsley)!

In reality Davies will probably have a promotion on his CV after a year as a manager and nobody will really know if he's any good.  (Playing against poor/average teams with a squad of players the opposition could only dream of and being lauded as bringing success, it would remind me of another manager in the news recently 😀).

Thing is every team will want to beat them so they will be up against it every match and they will be the most hated giving us a break!

Brum & Rotherham will sort the top 2 spots

Then around 10 teams going for play offs (thats my prediction on current transfer activity)

people say we need only tweaks yes if the standard was the same as last which it won’t be

Yes it will be interesting to see how they deal with coming up against blanket defences - whether they will try to break them down with better footballers out playing them, or the Derby method of brute force, strength and know how, or somewhere in between.

If Brum get off to a good start they'll probably go up as they'll have a big enough squad to sustain it, unlike the likes of Stockport who'll probably start fast but fall away when the injuries kick in.

but, if Brum start slowly, apart from teams raising themselves against favourites, they've an inexperienced manager & high expectations in their support, so it could turn nasty quickly......hopefully.

I'd add Huddersfield, they were better than Rotherham last season, seem to have had a good transfer window, and have a proven L1 manager.

Then they'll sack the manager before Christmas, get Rowett back and spend a load more in January 😀  Whatever ups and downs happen between August and April, they'll find a way to finish in the top 2.

Starting to hit home now how badly we messed up last season, isn't it ?

Really hope we have a better time with injuries this season,  we're due btw.

Anyway, as good as some of these teams look on paper, still need to play the matches 🙏🤞

Yep.

No one should be resigning themselves to the idea that the top 2 is sewn up, before the season has started.

The strengthening that Brum and Rotherham have done is certainly something of which we should all be very aware. However we saw how long it took the likes of Sunderland and Ipswich to get out of this division. Nothing is a racing cert.
