Transfers - Other L1 teams

Interesting to see who some of our "rivals" are signing - so let's have a separate thread to keep the other one for BW chat.

To kick off, Charlton replaced May with Godden from Coventry, looks an excellent signing for this level, 50 goals in 156 games.

Brum partnering May with Juke potentially - Jutkiewicz signed a 1 year deal.  Will be good to see him play here again, one of my favourite strikers of recent times.

And Dan Udoh who looked a handful for Shrewsbury at our place a few months ago has signed for Wycombe.

Bollocks to the other teams. Can end up creating a sense of doom around yourself.  SS has our back, and that's all we can expect now. Fuck Wigan, fuck Stockport, fuck em all. Look

Brum & Rotherham will sort the top 2 spots Then around 10 teams going for play offs (thats my prediction on current transfer activity) people say we need only tweaks yes if the standard

The strengthening that Brum and Rotherham have done is certainly something of which we should all be very aware. However we saw how long it took the likes of Sunderland and Ipswich to get out of this division. Nothing is a racing cert.

Your right Paul, but this Brum spending is on another level. Brum 3/1 for winning the league must be one of the shortest odds for a team winning the league ever! the next teams are 11s and 12s.

If Brum have all this money why did they get relegated last season?

Surely their budget would at least guarantee mid table obscurity.

You'd rightly be furious as brum fan. OK it was early in the season but they were in playoff positions when they potted their manager to get Rooney in to royally fuck them. Madness.

They love the owners. If it were us I’d just think of em as American cockends in a mini Todd Bohely way

Prolific from division six down

Lincoln signed a defender (Hamer) from Burton and the manager says one of the reasons is his long throw.

Hasn't Williams got a long throw. I recall Evatt being surprised when he used it in an early game.

So surprised he seems to have stopped him using it.

I'd hate it to be our one tactic, but now & again a useful weapon, Shirley ?

I think the contrast in styles/intent is given away by the fact that whilst Williams used it in his first game and it was immediately binned, the Lincoln manager seems to be buzzing over the prospect of having this weapon in his armoury and it may be a reason he signed him!

I don't particularly want to us use this tactic other than maybe last 5 minutes desperation (it was boring and not very successful when we used it in the past) but it looks like we will need to be on our guard aerially when we play th'Imps.

That would be a new low. He looked nothing like a football league player when he was with us.

Dont really know where you come up with that assumption when he only played twice for us, one as sub?

A team from the same division as us have just signed him!

It only took 5 mins at Rochdale for me to make my mind up. Happy to eat my words if he does anything of note at Crawley.

It does seem incredible that he's not only got a transfer to an EFL club, but one in L1.  He's never even played at National League level!  From the outside, it looks like Crawley have got promoted then set about weakening their team, they've lost a load of their better players and signing the likes of Faal.  They must be nailed on to finish bottom

Haha.

We had the same views about Santos initially too!

That said, I reckon Evatt got it right on both counts.

I Was at that game and hoped we'd signed a undiscovered gem, sadly he was just a lump of shit

Been round Blackpool FC all day today. Jesus I thought our lot were down in the dumps.

Training ground been put on hold, as has the fancy new stand with retractable top tier.

Barely any signings, hikes in ticket prices and a rather tense fans/owner Q&A the other week.

Didn't we all think they were in the pits just before they twatted us last season though?! 😃

Blackpool deserve to be shit
