Agreed, I'll take 2 points per game all day long, if we manage that to Christmas that will be outstanding.  But re "we'll see after 10 games" comments, last year most judgements after Carlisle were no doubt negative, as we'd also had the defeats v Wigan & Reading all 3 by early Oct.  Then 2 months of winning virtually every game, lots of positivity and optimism for months before the you-know-who defeats, and it all changes again, never to fully recover.  10 games won't tell us what 20 or 30 will look like.  I'd make an exception if we're either bottom half or 7 points clear, until that happens its just week to week ups and downs whatever formations or personnel are used and we'll know in April/May if its been good enough.

I know we discussed this at length last year.

But I think the 10/20 game benchmarks etc aren’t to be taken too literally and over analysed in terms of who we’ve played, who we are still to play etc.

Just simply that a table after 10 games tells us more than a table after 2/3 games, and then a table after 20, if you are still up there and on or near to 2 PPP, tells you you’ve stayed the pace over a longer period of time.

Neither tell you you are going to get promotion/relegation. But failure to be challenging the promotion places at any reasonable benchmark (over 10 games IMO) will put Evatt and the squad under scrutiny.

It was always going to happen after the various shit shows and let downs last season but it's like the few weeks after a major kick off with the Mrs when you've been caught texting another lass.

Every single little thing is being scrutinised to death. All the good stuff gets forgotten about in a jiffy and all the focus is on the negative side.

I know it's hard but people need to move on from last season. It was never going to be an overnight fix.

We will be up there punching make no mistake.

Am I missing something. Not sure what bit of that makes me a smart arse? 

I don't really care where he has or hasn't ended up. He was player that when brought on used to significantly alter the way we used the ball up front. 

It's irrelevant now anyway - but hopefully one of these new lads can be equally as effective as the season goes on.

New seat yesterday,   2 older blokes sat behind me,  moaned and moaned from about minute 3.    Then the ref didn't give a yellow card for a challenge in the first half,  one bloke then decided to look up the ref - found his email address and said there's his email address if you want to send him a message!

On my bête noir, McClean ... I thought he played a quiet but solid game and reacted to the boos, which he must be pretty used to by now, with a quiet humour. 

I wanted him to be beserking around the place and getting booked & even sent off. He was very professional damn him.

We did sign one, and now he's bumbling about our midfield giving the ball away constantly. 

At least he gets double digit bookings a season though, at least he's got that going for him.
