I've gone in depth elsewhere on why he has to go. But to be honest for me personally, I want him gone for arguably my own biggest reason... I'm just bored of it. We got battered by frigging

I still find it insane that people travelled down to FGR that day

Very strange that lot

Looks like George has let the cat out of the bag with his piece in the BN this morning, Evatt’s preparing the players for when they get higher up! Er, might I suggest the KISS method for this level might be better until they actually get there Ian? FFS now we know why we’re crap.

I was cringing reading that article. It just sounds so deluded. Paraphrasing but essentially "we're trying to play a more intricate style than everyone else because it will be good in the championship, and don't want to get the ball forwards quickly and win duels".

So nothing is changing then. We'll still be too rigid in our rehearsed patterns of play, dither around with it at the back, and be weak mentally and physically. Great.

Be best off saying nowt tbh

That's worse than when someone deletes a WhatsApp message before you read it :D

Not sure what we all expected but this makes awful reading.

It is on us,” he told The Bolton News. “We are coached in a way that a lot of League One football teams are not, and it does take belief and confidence to make it work.

“We don’t try and pass the ball around for the sake of it. We understand there are times to play and when to be more direct.

“In general, we are being asked to do more complicated patterns of play than the teams in this division who go front to back quickly, win second balls, duels, play for set plays.

“That’s all fine but we don’t want to do it. We are trying things that are a little more intricate, trying to create different types of chances.

“And I get that we are not doing it at the moment. But I think a lot comes down to confidence and belief in the things we are doing. Without it, this system is a tough thing to do.

“I think that when things are not going well you need to believe even more. And I don’t think we are doing that at this moment in time.

“If you can believe in yourself when things are not going right then it is usually a good sign, but I don’t know if there is a bit of that at the moment, things are not going right so I’ll look after myself. It can’t be like that. We are not only letting ourselves down, the manager down but the people who come to support us and spend their hard money to watch us play.”

The pressure to improve will be even greater on home soil this weekend, and Thomason says the home support will have a big role to play, as ever.

Reflecting on the anger and frustration seen around the terraces after the last couple of defeats, the 22-year-old says players must understand what impact their own successes and failures have on the public.

“We have to dust ourselves down, stay quiet,” he said. “I understand the frustration when we get beat.

“Football is an escape for a lot of people but there is a lot we can be happy and proud about in everyone’s lives. We have to play a part in that.

“It’s what we need to bring against Reading. We need positivity, not just from within but from everyone coming to the ground too because it is something that can really push us on. But as I have touched on before, it’s on us to make that happen.”

So we don’t want to move quickly, win duals & use set plays? all the things promoted clubs use

madness

Can’t work it out. Are all the quotes Tomo’s? Or are the first set Evatts?

Crossing over with the other thread, but I posted to Stig before I’d even read the quotes Gonzo’s put up.

I now agree that this idealistic way of playing won’t work because the way we play needs clarity of thought, belief, strong minds and confidence, all of which are in very short supply at the moment.

Evatt isn’t going to play the way other L1 teams have got out of this division.

Up until Huddersfield I’d backed Evatt to turn it round.

I thought there was genuine (not deluded/happy clapper) reasoning, which I won’t go into detail on, but in summary, around our previous progression, effective way of playing, new signings given a chance, re-set in training during international break etc, to believe that we could go again and get on a good run.

But it’s too far gone for me now. The triple header of the result/performance, Evatts interview after and the scapegoating farce that’s ensued makes it near-on impossible to  recover.

Hope I’m wrong.

He would get more respect if he swallowed some pride and went back to basics and said you know what it ain’t working.

like I said other day I genuinely think we will win Saturday but going forward this ain’t going to work
