Just checked and the first reference to the phrase "bogwank" on here came from me in April 2005. I made it up and can't find any earlier Google refs to it. Should I be emailing the OED to claim a new

  • And there in lies the problem. Political parties use tax cuts as a way of trying to get you to vote for them but people don’t realise the implications of less money coming into the government cof

I didn’t say it would be cheaper. It will be a penny off the rate it would otherwise have been without the cut in duty.

You could have said those on minimum wage will have an extra £30 a week (if working 37.5hrs a week) to spend on the pints

Why would I have said that?

Why would I put a few pence in a charity box at the game? I’ve never seen a charity box at a game. Who said I’d rather not have money off?

Are you ok?

Been watching analysis on TV.

General feeling is that they have gone big so they can get through the shit whilst an election is miles off.

3-4 people saying that the lack of allocation of money to infected blood and Horizon might explain the early election. Get it out of the way before the gap was public knowledge.

Certainly a thought.

The stories were well in the public domain, but it doesn't necessarily ring out with folk until the money get paid.

The point was more about the money not being included in the Tory's numbers , even though they did not know the exact figure they should have had some provision in. Early election passed the buck.

Carers allowance going up is the only bit I care about, more money for gig tickets and beer for me. I'm sure the other things will affect me in some way but that's for another day

you could earn up to £7500 and get it

Now you can earn up too £10'000

and get it

Booooo Lefty Labour filth.

So, is my understanding correct...

If you're a carer with less than £151 per week income currently, you can claim this £80/week, but if you're a penny over the £151, you get nothing?

I’m more than ok. I’m feeling very positive having seen a budget from a government that is keen to ditch the austerity and leave behind unfunded sound bite waffle policies like those we’ve seen during the last 14 years.

If you're happy to have money off the beers, your original post about a penny off pints seems a little silly…

YES

but you have to do 35hrs a week for the £81.90 a week

as a Carer

Although every budget does have an effect on everyone. I can't say any budget has made me change my life in any great way. I just adapt and role with whatever happens.

Why in Allah's name do carers only get minium wage.

What a shambles.

It’s not like Labour have got <checks> 14 years of financial sewage to sort out.

Only the daily mail and their gaggle of brainwashed weirdos think otherwise.

Still doesn't soften the hit for many.

I couldn’t give two fucks about a penny off a pint. It’s the Labour Party who seem happy about it and making a point of it .

For the last few years it's all been Labours fault for selling the gold.

Then it was Covids fault.

Then it was Ukraines fault.

They denied any of it was Brexits fault.

Now it's all Labours fault.

Like taking a big shit on the floor and having a pop at the fucker cleaning it up for not doing it right.

Just giving folk like yourself some hope. After 14 years of austerity you can now save a penny on a pint. Lucky lad 👍

Quite hilarious that the usual suspects are all sharing this "penny off a pint" thing. Just had the exact same screenshot from my Farage/Trump-loving mate. It's quite obviously a cover for the absolute fuming going on in their heads. 😁

Yep, they're very upset that it's not a lot "worse" in fact, the fact that it's barely raised a murmur with anybody must be killing them inside

The markets seem to be ok with it.

Just maybe they’re asking everyone to contribute towards a slightly better set of public services. Which have been bogwank for roughly 14 years.

Yes and if you're self employed and throughout a year ever earn over that 151 quid in a week you can't claim either their system doesn't accommodate fluctuations in earnings.
