What were your thoughts on Collins performance last night, compared to Vic?

He was awful as too was sheehan. But collins has skills and abilities. Victor has none...

I don't think McAtee's 'quality' is in question. But where he fits, and how hard he works, certainly are. A point made before rings true. McAtee is very good at looking the part.

He'll always drift in and out of games, a la Collins, but he hasn't yet justified his value. For what it's worth, I thought last night was one of his better games and he took his goal really well.

I'd take Maghoma over him all day long!

I counted 3 times yesterday that he made terrible passes and tried blaming the runner

Did someone once offer to buy Victor for money?

And we said  no?

Nahhhh, not having that like!

At no point did I suggest a Construction Manager could do a Football Manager's job or a Football Manager could manage a construction process.

I was making the point that all managers have to meet time objectives and our manager while exercising self-promotion, was ignoring the fact we are currently one year behind programme and maybe about to slide to two years.

However I fell into the trap that Cheese like to use, cherry pick a posting he/she has an issue with and then focus on a secondary point to deflect. I'll keep my comments more guarded in future even if that means stifling any alternative opinions.

Bit dramatic at the end 'stifling any alternative opinions'. I never said you had suggested that. You compared part of your job with IE I pointed out the numerous ways the job is different.

Fair enough.

I don't agree but all about opinions. Collins has more 'talent' but I'm perhaps a bit old school the way I view things. I'd take 10 Vics over 10 Collins everyday. Neither would get us promoted but i'd be less angry 🙂

I thought evatt leaving him on was just to spite the fans

You either take time to read what he said or say nowt

Rather than wildly speculate bullshit, because you’ve made your mind up that Evatt’s intention now is to wind the fans up

“I am delighted for Victor because everyone heard the reaction when he missed that chance, which isn’t going to help his confidence,” the manager said.

“So sometimes he needs the confidence of his manager to say ‘I believe in you, I’ll stick with you, go and get me the winning goal.’ Obviously, we added the third but I am delighted he got the second.

But Collins was completely bobbins and has been for a while

As I've said earlier Vic was poor but a lot of them were worse

It's all well and good having ability but you have to use them and Collins at the moment is not

Cannot fathom Collins out for the life of me. He has moments of magic in him but I’ve never walked away thinking “he was fantastic today”

i know a few Rovers lot and they were gutted when he left. Said he used to run games. That season when he was voted the leagues best player they said he was unplayable. Getting the ball, going at and beating players. Levels above anyone else.

Yet struggles to control the ball half the time, looks disinterested and often makes the wrong decision and executes it poorly.

he’s a head fuck

Victo doesn't do anything with confidence. He looked like he miscontrolled his goal.

He is so frustrating.

The goals he scores, nobody else does in the squad.

But he is so inconsistent. Is that because that’s his level, or is it attitude/application? I’ve not made my mind up.

Be interesting to see whether he starts against his old club Saturday..

That’s more debatable.

What isn’t, is Evatt leaving him on to spite the fans.

Could it possibly the way he his asked to play by Mr Evatt? Because, im like you, cant fathom him out, dont know where hes suppose to be playing?  His he striker/winger/midfielder? Hes got talent, but last night was very poor!

Worst players last night IMO were Johnstone and Sheehan. George had a few early touches that were poor and then got worse. Sheehan did nothing.

The inverted wing backs offered something, given we rarely cross the ball made sense.

There are players out there like Vic and Collins that are totally lacking any form or confidence at the moment. The dickheads with the banner were back. Just wonder what they think it will achieve ?

Desmond good when he came on but given injury record I am happy with him as an impact sub.

Captain Legohead straight back in Saturday, let's give Dion and McAtee a run up front to start. Although with it being Bristol Rovers maybe Collins will wake up.

I have a bee in my bonnet about Victor: just can't see what positives he brings. What does evatt and his team mates see in training? We've had some great number 9s and some poor ones but in my opinion he has to be 1 of the worst.

He currently can't make 5 yard passes ffs

Our results with him certainly dont suggest he brings nowt to the table

Thats justs facts though, so crack on

Fwiw, i think he looks cack

But Ive read Moneyball :)

I think Collins is a victim of Evatt's bizarre thinking. He doesn't know where he fits or what he's being asked to do.

... & he's not on his own.

Like the rest of them! So why is that? Who manages them? who trains them? Whos tactics and formations are they playing for?

I didn't like the reaction to that miss, however frustrating it was. There's a fine line between a mass expressing of a 'for fucks sake', which still won't sound good to the lad but would be something he'd accept happening, to outright booing. Same with booing them on if a sub or cheering when they taken off. No point destroying a player.

Vic's probably too nice a lad to have given it the cupped ears after he bungled it in, if he had done, fair enough. Might do him good to get fired up and give a bit back

Dion and Vic will run themselves into the ground and don't go hiding if they've missed a sitter or things aren't going there way. I'd take a whole team with that kind of mentality.

If we're playing that high tempo football we play on occasions I'd start those 2 every time. But a lot of that is dependant on playing quickly into the channels with the wingbacks being in close proximity offering support and overlapping. 2 man midfield isn't going to help things. Vic and slow football looks clumsy and counterproductive.

Anyway the table isn't looking too bad this morning. On't ter next

I get all of that.

He’s my least favourite out of the 4 we have.

But I also acknowledge some of the above about him playing in winning sides, so no matter how shit he looks sometimes, I’ll keep taking that 😊

But (and this Is the last time I’ll repeat it honestly 😊) Evatt isn’t doing anything to spite the fans.

Regardless of where he is on the “shitness” scale I don’t like the boos. And even if his shot for the goal was aiming at the corner flag, Evatt’s decision to keep him on was justified. He got the winning goal.

It’s another one of these strange anomalies in a very strange season.

Reckon Collins is a confidence player. A bit of a maverick who needs to be involved.

Does a slow build up suit him? Probably not.

Like any on those front lads, a run of games may suit him, but they're changed around a lot.

He has scored a couple in recent games though, even if he has suddenly become cack.

If a talented 27 year old pro cant kick a ball 5 or 10 yards on our pitch, its time he fucking could

No amount of coachimg or formation changing is gonna alter that
