Mummified?

As in wrapped in bandages?

Yeah that confused me too

Though the definition suggests preserved by chemicals accidently

A mummy is a dead human or an animal whose soft tissues and organs have been preserved by either intentional or accidental exposure to chemicals, extreme cold, very low humidity, or lack of air, so that the recovered body does not decay further if kept in cool and dry conditions.

Currently watching Mississippi Burning in his honour....

If you die and the air is warm and humid you basically putrify as bacteria grow and turn you to slime

If it’s cool and dry the bacteria can’t get a hold so the way it was explained to me ages ago is that’s it’s like butchers and restaurants do where they salt age meat. Remove moisture, keep it cool and everything remains as it is

Makes sense when you think of bodies in the pyramids

Aye seen that before. Must be grim walking past them knowing you could quite easily be next

Where'd you read that?

This sounds like they both just collapsed and died in different rooms

Though even if it was carbon monoxide or something seems strange they'd both die at the same time

Carbon monoxide has no smell or colour, so there is no warning. As levels built up, it is reasonable that they would both succumb at pretty much the same time.

Sleepy then gradual death. If early symptoms aren't recognised then you're in trouble.

The molecules form a permanent bond with the haemoglobin, rendering it useless for gas exchange, so the body can't get oxygen nor release carbon dioxide.

Spot on and the reason a carbon monoxide alarm is as important as a smoke alarm in my opinion .
could argue even more so, as you’ve a chance of smelling smoke !

Aye.

Got one in the room with my wood burner, but it started going off when it wasn't lit!

Only thing I can think of is us going back to a gas hob and that causing it!
