Looking at the Pontiff's face, it's as if he's seen the devil!

I am sorry an old fella has died. The rest, especially as a head of a very rich organisation is not for me.

Leader of a cult that believes in fairy tales and is riddled with pedophiles.

A cult that looks down on contraception yet dictates that its ministers behave as one big, permanent contraceptive!

Well, that's the official line of course.

Anyway, all the best to him, wherever he's gone.

The Falklands will still be British though. :)

Mike Peters -The Alarm

Absolutely gutted with this one.  A top, humble, selfless bloke. Saw him solo / with the Alarm several times over the years.  Great performer. He bravely battled blood cancers for over 30 years and set up the Love, Hope, Strength charity to encourage more people to become bone marrow donors.  He also raised £££ for charities and hospitals through various fundraising activities.  Been seriously ill for the last 12 months after the cancer came back again with a vengeance, yet still found time to write new music and his biography.  A life well lived. If anyone deserved a knighthood he did. RIP.

Very sad. Saw them supporting U2 in 83 as a student in Sheffield and they were superb. Almost as good as U2 that night. Later saw Mike Peters solo a couple of times. Again, superb, and very open about his illness. Never quite got the credit he deserved imo. Lovely man RIP

Gutted. Remember staying up late watching 'Cheers' on the first telly I had in my bedroom when I was a kid. A black and white thing with manual channel tuners and a piece of wire for an aerial. Having to quickly switch it off when my parents walked up the stairs. He was always my favourite character.

Quite a shock to see he was only in his early 30s when they were first making that series. Definitely one of the best sitcom characters of all time.

33 and 35 when it started

44 and 46 when it finished

and they both look much older than that to me

people did look much older for their age in the 80s and before than they do now

I believe it's because we drink much more water these days

woody was between 24 and 31 when he was in it

My personal theory on people looking younger these days is growing up with central heating.

Re-watched 'Cheers' recently, almost from start to finish, and it still stands the test of time. They jumped the shark with a few episodes when they left the pub, but the rest of it is ace.

Watched the whole lot a couple of years ago. Well, started it a couple of years ago. Took a while to see it through. But yeah, really stands the test of time. Norm’s one-liners consistently funny from start to finish. From the pics above, Cliff was almost on a par with Norm as being the best character
