If they feel different shape or personnel are required for that, then so be it. Fuck any soppy cunts that get upset by it- it's not as if they're ripping up trees! I wonder if quietly, Darby might fancy a go? I’m almost certain he doesn’t. And even if he did, he’s not getting it. If he had any ambition in that regard he’d have long since moved on beyond the u18’s here or elsewhere. Quote
Nottm_Wanderer Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Well done Jules , always liked him as a player . Comes across as a true wanderer , concluded interview by implying we may have some surprises to Huddersfield. I remember seeing him after the Oxford match at Wembley, wearing his football shirt from his era at Burnden , walking away from the ground a few minutes after the final whistle...no corporate rubbish for Jules ..a man of the people I'd say Quote
Rival Son Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Watching that interview, I hope Derby, Taylor and Tutte, treat this match as a free hit. Go after them, tell the players to relax and enjoy themselves. Attack Huddersfield with first time passes and shots. Tell them no one is measuring possession and pass completion rates. Just have fun and put on a performance. Quote

Surprised nobody has ever mentioned it. Yeah you probably would have seen him. Same with Jimmy Philips Ballboy, player, academy coach/manager, interim manager Bolton through and through and both got loads of stick as players Quote

Speaks perfect sense, and says everything we're all thinking. No jargon or hype. Hope he gets a win under his belt before the new man comes in. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Nice little interview. Relaxed, cheery, no guff. Easier situation for him though. Has his accent been altered by moving around the country? At times, it seemed a strong local accent, then others, much less so! Quote

I have a feeling it will be exactly the same defensive tactics as under IE because its the easiest/quickest option with 2 days to prepare, I'd love to be wrong. But Jules comes across well, if not a natural talker. But the natural talkers often spout a lot of gibberish, and he just says what needs to be said. Good luck to him, genuinely hope its a positive experience for him even if we lose. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Perhaps a bit nervous or wary initially, but soon relaxed. Spoke well enough afterwards. If we were to win, he and the others would be god-like for a day or two. Quote

bolton va va Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 I always liked Jules & it's a good interview. Good luck to him. Huddersfield away is a different test to Charlton at home & i'd change it a bit by stiffening the midfield & starting both Thomasson & Matete. Quote

bolton va va Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 I've got a blurred memory of Jules scoring at Birmingham with a header from about 40 yards out. Not quite as daft as it sounds, the way i remember it, the keeper rushed out but Jules got there first with his head & it rolled into the net......but nobody else seems to remember it. I did drink a bit then !!! Quote

Not heard anything about Matete getting a retrospective punishment neither. Quote
Ani Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 I went to school with his elder brother. Wonder if we have a keeper on the bench. Weather looks too dangerous to drive over Penines on Saturday, might be better to send your tickets to someone who lives over this side. Quote

What are the odds on it being too dangerous, can you lay against it, and who do you think will give you the tickets? Quote

It is almost definitely going to be too dangerous, heard the M62 is going to be shut. Assume Cheese will help me out. Quote
thebells Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Just looking at the table for the first time in weeks. I expect Huddersfield to get promoted with Birmingham. Crazy that if we’d won our last two home games, which we should have done, we’d be going there full of confidence and with a chance of getting within 2 points of them. Obviously it didn’t happen, but shows how close we’ve managed to be without a single noteworthy performance all season. Bring back Evatt Quote
