A minor niggle that miraculously heals in time to play the next league match is one thing, a second minor niggle a week or so later that coincidentally also miraculously heals in time for the next league match would be taking the piss with it

You think the fa or league or whoever are keeping an eye on it and would step in if they thought a club was taking the piss with it?

You make it sound like they'll turn a blind eye to it once, but not twice

I really don't think anything would've happened via the EFL or FA had Stockport chosen not to play him in the replay

I mean because it'd be a bit shameless to do it a second time, especially when the player is fit enough to start league matches both days before and days after

We tore up his contract between transfer windows specifically to allow him to sign for them that very same day

I think it was more the fact stockport were non league that the transfer was allowed

Which probably means references to EFL are misplaced

And the game was in an FA competition

It was

He could only sign for a non-league club because it was between transfer windows and he was registered to us

But my point was that it was a transfer between clubs in all but name

I can’t believe how much explaining you’re having to do on this.

You were right and I understood on your first post a few days ago 👍😂

Nah, just that it wasn't the case that we'd released him and so were in no position to make any demands when he signed for them as a free agent

We'd have lost this game the last 2 seasons too. Gone into it with optimism and then probably lost with us barely having a shot.  This time, given how we're playing I really fear another gubbing.  Thanks to @Anifor the tickets, who clearly saw me coming! Talk about buyers remorse!

Why on earth would they agree to that?

They are hell bent on promotion and have just spent £750k on a striker.

He will want to shove one right up Evatts arse as well.

We don't know if there is such an agreement in place or not. I'd guess not, as it seems we wanted to sell, but we could have asked as he's gone before we play them.

Not arsed either way though; we've bigger issues and will likely lose anyway.

Just had a quick look on Huddersfield’s forum. They are a bit nervous of the “new manager bounce”This stat that someone found made me smile. Opponents with a new manager Vs Huddersfield:

HTAFC Opponent Average: 2.5 points per game(W6, D2, L0)

😁

They all think Charles will start too, so maybe the “he’s got a little niggle” theory will be put to the test.

I feel a bit for Evatt after this game. Him going will definitely be used to justify the result.

If we win and play well, it will be because the players are playing with freedom, less pressure and/or super Jules has them more organised making reactive subs.

If we lose, it will be on Evatt - it’s going to take time lifting the dark cloud, he’s not built a strong enough squad etc.

I don’t disagree BTW, just pointing it out.
