Bedsheets brigade?

I'm not and never will be. But the growing strength of anti evatt feeling,  leads me to suspect that there maybe a few fans who will show their dissatisfaction towards Evatt on Saturday, manifested in own made banners etc...

  • Despite my own pretty conservative views on expressing discontent and disappointment, there’s certain things I can let ride in the current situation. I’ve never minded the difference of opinion d

  • At Rotherham on Saturday I joined in with "sideways and backwards" as that is generally true and quite humerous, and I also suspect it riles him.  I just can't bring myself join in with "we want

  • Folk can do what they want but just keep it fucking civilised and don't ruin the day for folk who are there to simply watch a game of football with their friends and family and support their football

We would all be happy if this happened sadly it won't

Reckon you've been listening to the Everly Brothers. :)

When was the last time we won 5 league games on the bounce? 🫣

:D

Just saying a few good results and it would all die down.

Maybe I'm just too old for all the drama.

And I'd hazard a guess @Lostock Whitesis under 25.

Win one of the next five more likely

Last time we won 5 league games on the bounce was October/November 2023 :drinks:

I just can't bring myself join in with "we want Evatt out" as I don't think it helps anyone at all during a game, including the players on the pitch as well.

Ah see I wholeheartedly joined in with the "Ian Evatt, get out of our club" chant as that is my overriding feeling.

Our club is indulging him for some reason and we're being dragged backwards. We'll be here long after him.

The others were more "fun" chants but that actually meant something to me.

See, I want him gone but singing this out loud sticks in my craw.

It's fucking toxic and unnecessary, doesn't help anyone at all.

'Sideways and backwards' is as far as I could go.

Nlundulu is out with a hamstring injury for 10+ weeks . Dunno if that means he comes back to us for treatment.

If he does, that’ll be an immediate upgrade to out for the season!

Oi brittan, do what i say

Go a goal down on Sat and it will go pear shaped sharpish.

Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't have people on the pitch like under Freedman.

The ground as a whole aren't happy but the patrons of the two buses I go on of a match day are  nowhere near stripping the bed yet. Iv'e not seen anyone incandescent with rage, or anywhere near it to be honest.

As you say, go behind on Saturday though and tennis balls could be the least of their worries.

If this same situation was happening anywhere else in Europe, Evatt would be facing a whole lot worse than just a few chants.

Our fans have been more than patient and supportive of him and the club, just to be let down. Those fans at Rotherham travelled there for an early kick off, affecting most of their weekends, spending their hard earned wage to watch that utter garbage.

If it was meal or an experience day somewhere you'd be asking for a refund.

Those fans have every right to chant against the manager.

The owner of the restaurant could say nobody forced you to come :)

That's why it's worlds apart from any other pastime.

It's the only chant that hits the nail on the head though. "Sideways and backwards" is a bit of a laugh, but the reason we all invest so much time in this is because it's our club and it means a lot to us.

It's frustrating to say the least to see our club underperforming because we have an incompetent and arrogant manager. We need rid of him, sooner rather than later.

Ironically it's the stuff about his style of play that riles Evatt the most.

If he gets a load of personal abuse the focus will be on that and he'll get a lot of sympathy (rightly so). If it was thousands mocking his pound shop Pep routine that would probably make more of a difference.

But generally, I'm of the opinion that as long as it's not abusive people should be able to have their say. They pay enough.

I’m an AST holder so I can see and hear what’s happening both home and away.

But believe me, I’d rather leave the ground early than have mongoloids around me singing toxic shit that doesn’t achieve anything.

The board aren’t completely fucking stupid, they go to the games too, and as much as I disagree with them, it’s their choice to support him.

Apathy/leaving early is much more potent than vitriolic abuse imo.

What's vitriolic about "get out of our club"?

Toby?

The out brigade that go to the effort of making a sign. And the dicks who cheered when Rotherham scored are twats!

Any talk of throwing tennis balls on the pitch or that sort of 'mass protest' is fucking ridiculous. We didn't even stoop to that level in the dying throes of the Ken Anderson era. We've just got a dead duck manager, who'll be gone at the end of the season if we don't make the playoffs - we're not on the brink of folding ffs.

Bang on. Same here. You never hear the "What a load of rubbish!" chant anymore.  It was almost a club song in the 80s you used to hear it so often!  I'd have joined in with that if someone elderly had started it up.

Well, firstly we won't  ... but even if we did it would, at the very best, kick the can down the road.

None of it will serve any purpose and just makes us look like dicks.

We are in a bit of rough period and our manager is running or ran out of ideas.

Results will get him sacked and absolutely nothing else.

I've had so many comments from folk round here surprised at the ill-feeling.

From the outside you see a promotion, 5th place and 3rd place. Near capacity attendances just another big club struggling in the abyss of this division.

Our first true rocky patch in years and the banners and tennis balls are out already.

He will get himself sacked. A few bedsheets won't make blind bit of difference.

Keep it sensible folks for christ sakes.

If that was the case then he’d have gone after Huddersfield, never mind Stockport. That’s the bit that concerns me. How bad does it need to get?

There’s people on the row behind me who haven’t celebrated a goal for years. Vocal when things aren’t going well, silent when they are. I do wonder why they bother.
