Next Manager

...and so it begins.

The lunatics are out in force already.

Sean Dyche or John McGinlay my favourites so far :D

Really hope it works out for him.

  • We don't need a sentimental appointment here to put a fire out. Like said above, we are fully loaded and ready to go. It's actually a dream job for someone. Sqaud full of talent ✅️ Dece

Discount the best manager we have had in living memory ? and that’s not even up for debate

Do you think United should reappoint Ferguson using the same logic?

Why are you pretty sure that the people who make the decisions at Bolton don't rate Sam Allardyce

I expect the board are looking for a long term ‘project’ manger like Evatt was and big Sam no longer fits that mould.

And if you’ve seen any recent interviews with him, he’s not only showing his age, but sounds like yesterdays man.

I love the fella for what he did. Made my 20’s so much fun. But i just can’t see the club would want him at all.

Just good at what directly impacts on scorelines

Surely that is what every team aims for one way or another

 The magnets been out for certain.

The only one thick as mince (apart from you) is the one who doesn't know the difference between backing and laying.

Right set of salty fuckers on here tonight. Thought with Evatt going maybe people might get along for a while and now they're flinging insults around about how to gamble properly! Anyway I've got a ton that says City will win the league at 40 to 1 if anyone wants to know how much I know about gambling.

Carry on squabbling!

I'm surprised that Gareth Ainsworth hasn't had a mention. His teams not only play attacking football, but are tough. Something that we've been missing for a while.

Would have to pay compensation to Shrewsbury though. I think he’d be a good fit.

I’m just not excited about any of the options TBH

Hayes would be great but she’s earning gazillions in the US ofA- woman’s a football genius but zero chance of coming to us.

The rest are scary options who could really fuck us up.

I’d be inclined to stick with the Dream Team until the season’s over and then look again, unless someone else throws their hat in the ring.

Assuming they're all like Evatt (and they all bought into what Evatt was selling until the bitter end), they rate themselves very highly. It's all about a project, being big brained progressive thinkers and doing things differently. And that 'DNA' is more important than winning football matches.

They're not going to get Big Sam in and agree to do things his way. And Big Sam's not going to come in and do things their way.

I do hope your bet comes up pal.

I've just put a 20 spot on us to win at the weekend.

This is based on me having Julian Darby always turnings up for the Jr Whites meetings every Tuesday in the late 80s. Given I've still got this scribble in my old players autograph book, he won't let me down...

Cheers mate, can't see it but fingers crossed

I'm sure you are right.

I suppose there is a scenario where they don't feel anyone is quite right and identify someone in post, who will come, but after the season has ended.

The big man may be a suitable temporary option.

An unlikely scenario, and as Sam has said "no" already, then it's moot.

Me neither but I will be really chuffed if it does. No time for the grief junkies (great side and manager that they are) and them Laahndan types can all fuck off.

Be equally as pleased if Forest became champions but a nice collect for a fellow White tips the balance.

I'd like to think that Sharon and the other board members/investors have reflected over the last few days and will set a brief for the candidates more in the style of the last Government's favoured three word slogans

Get Us Promoted

He’s not managed for years and he managed us nearly 20 years ago. Our fans obsession with wanting to go back is amazing. We mock Everton yet we are desperate to appoint our “big Dunc”

the reason he was a success was he brought all the new science etc in and worked to the best of what we had. The sports science is everywhere now. He was ahead of the times but now he’s not even close. Look at his recent jobs.

He became a rescue merchant, perhaps unfairly.

Never got a crack at a truly big club punching at the top for titles and silverware.

We'll never know how far he could have gone.

He got the England job and his own stupidity ruined it.

I think Big Sam would be a perfect director of football, on the board, linking between manager and directors, giving the benefit of his long experience not just of football but of Bolton Wanderers.

I'm not sure why we'd need a DoF

The only England manager in history to have a 100 per cent win record!

Think we do need a DOF as today's game is not just about the training ground and sorting tactics for match day. A DOF could deal with all the agents, transfers, board and general direction of the team, so the manager can concentrate on the actual team. Sam would be great for that and knows this side of the game. Schumacher could then focus on match tactics.

This.

He's yesterday's man.

And he fucked us off for his own benefit yet never finished higher than he did with us.

We can't afford his fat fingers in our little pies nowadays.

To take some of the every day dealings off the managers shoulders so he can concentrate more on the players, training/tactics

If we could afford that is another question. I certainly would welcome him working closely with the likes of Sharon to give advice. I think she would welcome the expertise.
