The problem is the only other real option is Matete and he has been awful last few times he played.

I’d have a pile of bibs ahead of matete.

Matete winner pending…

Just got back. Dreadful game between two dreadful teams at a dreadful stadium in a dreadful town. And it couldn’t be any fucking sweeter!

  • I take it all back. 11 sets of bollocks there tonight. Not a single bit of quality like, but we fought to the end 💙💪💪

  • It was a great performance v Brum but they are pretty much home and hosed, nobody expected a result and we caught them off guard. I don't doubt our players ability. We have genuine talent.

He could move one of the defenders into the  midfield to battle with them rather than allow the likes of Sheehan, Randall and Morley to get clattered,  drop their heads and go hiding.

Wigan are a poor team that are 18th in the 3rd Division. They are due to concede the first goal in this fixture in which case their game plan has gone and it could be a comfortable night for Bolton

Tried ringing you @dusan nikolic

I'm not on FB so can't reserve one :(

Morley won’t be getting clattered. If he was available a 3 of him Sheehan and GT would be fine. As it is he is suspended and GT has been awful since Blackpool at home.

Sadly I think the only option is 5 3 2 , I would start Schon and hold Desmond back. So Schon, JDC , Sheehan, Legohead and Matete.

McAtee and Collins upfront.

3 centre halves of pick themselves because Murphy and Gethin not had a good game between them this season.

Not sure which defender you could move into midfield without leaving bigger gaps elsewhere.

I think that is the sort of physically weak team Wigan will be hoping Bolton field,On the other extreme Schumacher could play Thomason, a centre half and the big full back from Newcastle in midfield to match them in the battle and hope the extra quality on the flanks and up front claims the points

Looks like Lolos not in SS plans for the future unless he’s been injured .

Evatt as a lot to answer our midfield is pretty poor and signing Randall for a million when everybody could see we needed a battler in midfield not a 7 stone weakling who can’t tackle just amazes me.

Not a bad idea bringing a defender into midfield, it's the kind of thing Allardyce did and probably would do now given how weak the rest of the midfield is. Forrester would be the natural one for me, Forino and Johnston stay as the CBs

I wouldn't mind seeing Forrester in there, at least for a one-off game like tonight. As you say, before all the pigeon holing bollocks about 'he's a 6, he's an 8, he's a 10' it was in vogue to have former centre backs as defensive midfielders.

No doubt: as I've said plenty of times, I don't think SS really believes in him, so can understand if he feels a bit demotivated.

At the same time, if he gets a go, them he should be trying to put himself in the shop window.

Whether Lolos will get a go, and maybe just one striker in front, who knows.

I'd go 4 at the back with murphy at left back, for all his downfalls we've still looked more solid overall than we do with the 5-3-2.

I'd start thomo and matete in the middle with Schon and Mendes gomes giving us the option to get Desmond on at half time along with Sheehan when the game opens up a bit more. For all his good points, Sheehan shits out of every 50/50 and i don't think he's looked great for a few weeks (despite what Wales may say). He was shit at Burton but scored a worldie.

I think des could do some real damage for us here but he drifts in/out too much. Coming on second half with 30 mins to create chaos would give us an edge that we don't seem to have from the bench at the moment.

Reasonable points.

Murphy, with a wide man in front of him, wouldn't worry me as much as him being a lwb.

Cheers Pal , i'm sorted at last and my phone is being a bastard . Thanks again for your help coyfwm

Had my first mouthful of Chablis. Chilled to 3 degree perfection. Partnered with a bag of salt n shake so I'm giddy.

Tonight is the night McAtee enters "beast mode" ...heard my son use this reference when he keeps getting bummed on fifa.

0-2, both scored by mcatee resembling a 2025 Alan shearer.

10 quid on at 40s , pays for next week chablis and salt n shakes.

we'll shit em 5-0

0-2 piece of piss

I don't particularly know why but I thought and said we'd win the home game. Don't know why tonight either but I think we might.

Perhaps if you think it enough it'll eventually come true

Certainly scares me as a left back.

With some protection, I think he'll be OK.

Wouldn't mind at all seeing 5 in front of the defence. Maybe Schőn in front, and Tomo inside him. A left footed triumvirate.

Seems odd if so, unless he's had a little injury we weren't aware of.

They fell out when he was his coach at Plymouth
