2025/26 League One Season

Early, but am I weird to be kinda looking forward to a fresh season under Schuey, with some of his players to come in?

Just trying to move on from this catastrophe of a season as quickly as possible for my own sanity.

We know Cardiff City & Plymouth are joining us along with one other of either Hull City, Luton Town, PNE, Derby or Stoke. Would like Hull or PNE personally, think they'd be less of a challenge than the others.

Port Vale, Doncaster joining too along with potentially Bradford and one more. Nice to see some northern clubs coming.

Glad to see the back of Brum and Wrexham. I think as it stands we will be the favourite to go up, will also have the leagues largest attendances, and probably the biggest club by some distance with big hitters less prominent. Pressure will be greater than ever, yet I'm looking forward to it.

Its been one long season, I guess the first thing everybody needs is a big long break.

That's right. Stockport are outstandingly well recruited, prepared and coached, in training and on matchdays. No stand out talents, no mavericks or ballers, just strong, fit, fast and decent players,

No problem with trying him out n loan.  But to buy him on the strength of his performances whilst here ? wowsers.

Quite frequently if we go a goal down then I’ll stick a few quid on us to win. Did the usual at 1-0 at PNE….just as the ball hit the net for the second 🙈

Come half time at 2-2 it looked the safest bet in the world but we didn’t quite manage to nick it

Had a great day out, actually. No hassle drinking anywhere

Ah remember it now. It was 2-2 half time wasn't it.

I saw you before game in spoons iirc.

They bussed us all off after game.

Yeah that was the one. We managed to get in one of their pubs after the game and ending up finding all sorts of little pubs and micropubs dotted about, don’t think we got the train back until gone 9

Could see them bankrolling a space next season. They can wait. It will happen sooner rather than later.

Be good to have PNE down, we can't keep remaining traumatised to play local rivals for ever, we put that to bed against the pie eaters.

With exception to Cardiff & Plymouth it's looking a fair few northern clubs coming up/down.

PNE & Bradford would be great. Much better clubs than the likes of Shrewsbury, Cambridge and Cheltenham over recent years.

Yep.

I could take you on sports bar crawls, old school cask beer bars, craft beer bars, wine bars etc.

Not sure about the LGBT scene though.

Haha.

Big shout that. When you’ve done your homework on the one I’m most comfortable in then I’ll pop up for a drink. Woo hoo.

Is our record against PNE so bad ?    All I remember about them is the penalty against simon farnworth at the lever end and I think chic charnleys debut at Deepdale!

I remember a 4-0 win for us there, on the plastic.

Not sure if that was Chick the Dick's debut or not.

We won on the plastic a couple of seasons running- 4-1 & 2-1.

Remember a 4-0 home win, Oghani hat trick where he was rewarded with a new suit and a 2-1 home win where we scored 2 goals in injury time.

I've only been to PNE once

New Years Day, 12pm kick off

Some sights there that day, folk bringing their own booze to carry on the drinking in McDonald's at 10.30am

Recall some one having a burger with a bottle of Smirnoff

2-0 win over big Sam on way to promotion

That was the game when the Town End was being redeveloped so it was reduced capacity and we were given some terracing down the side, maybe 2k max.  I was in the stand opposite, a strangely subdued atmosphere probably because of early KO.  Didn't feel like a big game even though we both ended up in play offs.

I've seen us there about 10 times and there's never been an edgy atmosphere, quite pleasant really!

it was the one and only time I booked a travel club

I lived in Manc but knew I'd be out late and felt driving as far as the ground was enough and that would work out better in terms of getting to preston and parked up if we went on the coach

out till 3am on vodka red bull

slept in

doing 100mph+ on the M61 to try and get there in time whilst still massively over the limit

missed coaches

then some old guy offered us a lift so took it

then just stood there and felt like dying for a couple of hours

never again

We ended up in some back street pub Ferny had managed to sort.

It was horrendous forcing ale down at 10am after a night pilled up.

Always a good bunch from your way about. Big guy with the White hair, his lad and his pal Simon.

We used to run the coach and have Paul Horrocks, Chris Brindle and his mate Mark on em.

I was on that coach & could never find that pub again  🙂, & it was in walking distance of the ground.

Reminds me, I walked up with Steve from L.A, i've not seen or heard of him for a long time.

Gordon and Andy still go, kids/grandkids in tow. Don't think Simon's been on since Big Sam days, but I still see him knocking about round town now and then.

Great lads. Proper stalwarts.

It was only when we moved to the Reebok I think we realised how many die hards we have that side of Lancashire.

Huge numbers in Chorley, Leyland etc.

Just listening to Iles on the buff podcast saying there is talk of pre season games abroad , anyone allegedly ITK heard owt?

Believe they're going to Marbella for pre-season training camp
