2025/26 League One Season

Early, but am I weird to be kinda looking forward to a fresh season under Schuey, with some of his players to come in?

Just trying to move on from this catastrophe of a season as quickly as possible for my own sanity.

We know Cardiff City & Plymouth are joining us along with one other of either Hull City, Luton Town, PNE, Derby or Stoke. Would like Hull or PNE personally, think they'd be less of a challenge than the others.

Port Vale, Doncaster joining too along with potentially Bradford and one more. Nice to see some northern clubs coming.

Glad to see the back of Brum and Wrexham. I think as it stands we will be the favourite to go up, will also have the leagues largest attendances, and probably the biggest club by some distance with big hitters less prominent. Pressure will be greater than ever, yet I'm looking forward to it.

Its been one long season, I guess the first thing everybody needs is a big long break.

That's right. Stockport are outstandingly well recruited, prepared and coached, in training and on matchdays. No stand out talents, no mavericks or ballers, just strong, fit, fast and decent players,

Be good to have PNE down, we can't keep remaining traumatised to play local rivals for ever, we put that to bed against the pie eaters.

I can't really explain why but I don't think we'd ever have had that local rivalry hoodoo against PNE

I think that can only be based on the season we beat them in the play off final 😀

They've won here on their only 3 visits since (and been miles better than us each time).  We've drawn at Deepdale on all 3 visits, but never taken the lead against them since Cardiff.

Out of the 92 league clubs there can't be many we've played and not beaten in about 25 years.

Heard a rumour @L/H Whitemay wet himself at one of the home pre season friendlies

Let’s just hope we don’t piss about with Chorley and the likes.

Isn't that usually just the B team lads and anyone who didn't get minutes in the previous 1st team friendly?

Probably. Still wouldn’t have it. Leave them to Preston

Shut up you minge, decent day out is that friendly

How will ffp affect Luton (if at all in division 3).

Am guessing they'll have a fair chunk of change rattling around 🙄

Robbing bastards saw us coming.

Mendes-Gomes and McAtee brought them over a million off us.

Tried to forget about that 🤦‍♂️

And to think how much the signing was lauded initially, with many saying how he'd done well against us for Barnsley.

They have a new ground to pay for, so that may slow them down.

Pretty sure I've read they get an extra 4.5 million in parachute payments to soften the blow of a double relegation.

I just hope we have a good start

After the damp squib that was the run-in, a poor return early doors next season could see things start getting toxic again

Yeah, we were talking at the match yesterday, saying how important a good start next season is 🤞otherwise I can see the numpties getting on Schueys case early doors!

No way on earth we will be favourites to go up!

They spent it at Wiggin too on Aasgaard.

I remember a 4-0 win for us there, on the plastic.

Not sure if that was Chick the Dick's debut or not.

Sure it was 4-1, one of my favourite aways that - crazy scenes

had a few good days out at pne over the years

With seven teams finishing above us by a considerable margin, including the likes of Wrexham, Stockport and Orient we are way behind the required level for promotion and even further behind the level a club of our stature aspires to return to .All those above us not promoted plus the three teams coming down from the Championship will be shorter odds for promotion unless the bookies hype us to take advantage of the large number of delusional BWFC fans - again.

We need transformation rather than tweaking, but we’re tied into some dubious player contracts so Schuey has really got his work cut out over the summer and all we can do is wait and hope.

With no idea of the available budget this time around and having spent big already Im hoping for a miracle - and that’s a word I don’t use lightly 😀

Well they didn’t do much with it this season did they? Parachute payments and what they robbed off us for McAtee and still got relegated so why would they be any better next season?

Agreed but wouldn't worry too much about our final position.

The likes of Pompey, Ipswich, Derby all finished outside the play offs the season before they all got automatics.

Big summer ahead...

I don’t think they need to be much better to get promoted next season as the gap to Championship standard is so big and their better players will piss it in this league unless they have to sell them off. They will be expecting an immediate return and it’s up to the likes of us to improve on this year.
