Sheffield Wednesday (H) - League Cup Round 1

tickets on sale for this, so will presume it's going ahead, will wait till day or day itself before till I get tickets though, just in case

but looking forward to it as we should be able to smash them

be interesting to see how many they bring, wouldn't surprise me if they filled the south stand given the chance, though they've initally been given 3,700 at £10/£5 a pop

I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought we had some decent attacking moments, I thought I'd dreamt it. Negativity on here is unbelievable, you'd think we were bottom of the league in November not

  • Pretty much my thoughts, decent night in all. Went on my tod, expected nothing, sat next to this sound woman from the States (small handful) who was over with her kid for some tournament. Enjoyed a pa

Most comments I heard coming away was that it was enjoyable, entertaining and a proper cup tie!  (and that the keeper was crap). £10 for that (and no queues getting away!) compared to about £30 v

Not great

But that's no disgrace given where he is in his development

He needs a loan

He looked nearer being a player than lawrence and warren so hopefully any suggestions we have enough in the striker dept are now silenced

Their man went past three of ours for their third

Credit to the Sheff Weds kids who were well up for it & shown a top attitude. I mean we did well to get it to pens playing with 10 men for an hour mainly due to bringing on some attackers who have some quality about them but far too many players miles off it when they should be trying to claim a spot in the first XI. Forino the captain was shocking, getting dragged everywhere then dived into a horror tackle on a kid because he was getting the piss took out of him, McAtee throwing tantrums thinking he's too good for them when he was once again one of the worst on the pitch, Morley not the one who was at Wycombe then the full backs Tutu & Cogley they combined for the first goal but were a mess in general play. Rather not speak on the keeper, one thing U.S football does is provide really top keepers over the years but our new lad isn't one of them. Thought Erhahon did pretty well, just not the best at switching a pass out wide but everything else he looked decent at.

Agreed. People were pretending he was ready. Tonight’s proved we have got a few not up to it / not ready yet

At least we're not getting dicked by Leeds in the next round, that's my worst fucking nightmare.

And if it's any consolation, Jim McDonagh was gash on his debut.

Yes it has certainly shown we need to add to the depth of the squad and sort some development loans

Only watched second half as I’m out of UK and booked meal thinking we were playing Tuesday, anyhow I wasn’t disheartened thought we played well with 10 men came back strongly after conceding. Duberry is class and solid displays from some of the new signings.

Good pay day for Chansiri having Leeds at home next round. Wednesday fans will be pleased....

I swear on one of the penalties Miller dived as their player began his run up

We'll never (hopefully) see that guy in nets for us ever again. He'll be a "rememebr that guy" footnote in a few years

Concentrate on fa cup 😁

Like the last Yank keeper we had

Apparently, he's the eighth American we've signed

I can't name five but I'm fucked if I know who the other three are

Warren showed some nice touches, and erhahon when match fit will be a good addition. Always tough when down to 10 men, not concerned about the result as it was about giving the squad minutes on the pitch.

Third choice keeper, ironically. Sam signed him in...2002?

Honestly got no memory of him at all

I really really want McAtee to do well, but I thought before the game he’d have a sulk if he was playing. Like he was being put in the ressies for something and I was right. He did absolutely fuck all, ‘cept saunter around with a face on him pretending to press their 6. A few honking performances tonight. Too many in fact. Only Duberry and Gale played well in my opinion.

2 centre mids, Whole back 4 and the keeper were absolutely miles off it

Hopefully the players stinking the place out can be moved out.

I've had a whale of a time watching Snot in the MDH tonight. Checking the footy on my phone was a slight distraction. But being out of the milk cup is hardly worth spoiling an cracking evening.

1 keeper - awful JSL starts every game fortunately

2 TuTu - keep him away from defence third choice as a wide player before new lad comes in- Conway can currently start every game for me.

3 JDC - keep him away from left back our only option at right back , becoming the target for the boo boys. He is ok

4 Forino never got going looked poor, only back up for now

5 Inwood daft challenge deserved red, hopefully he learns ok as back up - GJ ok when he came on

6 Morley - not his best but he has a role to play over the season

7 Erahorn - whatever he is called - hard to impress on a night like tonight - think more and better to come .

8 CMG - must be 5th choice - happy to move him out - Gale makes things happen shows how poor CMG is

9 Warren - looked a long way out of his depth but expected at his age. ACD looks quality at this level his work rate puts others to shame.

10 . Lawrence - the front 4 looked awful , think he needs a loan

11. McAtee - Just continues to disappoint/annoy/frustrate. I just think the move has not worked out for anyone. Burstow. - did not do much but still was an upgrade on McAtee

Anyone else not able to pay for parking tonight?

Got the 2nd half.

Jury still out on the depth of squad. Hard to judge on that game with 10 men, when midfielders and defenders are getting dragged around the pitch trying to keep us competitive yet solid.

Keeper has clearly had an awful debut, that has to play a major part in the result.

Not surprisingly Warren didn't seize his chance and Lawrence looks nowhere near good enough for this level yet.

McAtee his usual flicks without imposing himself.

CMG going to be way down the pecking order with the new guy coming in.

Credit for battling on with 10 men and subs showed their class.

Barnsley away miles more important than tonight.

It could be 11 changes

Not easy to judge playing with 10 for the most part

The keeper was toss

The subs were good

Scoring 3 with 10 men is encouraging
