It was Cogley. He then does his usual throw his arms up in the air and look really confused when the goal goes in.

He’s shit

We’re talking about two different things here aren’t we?

Tracking the wide runner is largely on Burstow. Not Gale (wasn’t on the pitch) and not Cogley.

If you’re talking about picking up players in the box. Then they are all culpable, including the coaches as this  silly high line has them all on the hop not being in positions to defend properly.

Harsh to just isolate Cogley.

Theres two things that happen,  Burstow then TSL, before you even look in the middle.

Frankly I care little for Randall's work ethic, it's the bare minimum that he puts a shift in.

Instead I judge him on the fact we paid over a million for him, is playing in a number 10 role with complete freedom to impact games and has virtually done nothing whatsoever.

He doesn't pick the ball up and drive at defenders, his shots are weak as piss (never seen him shoot a ball off the ground). He on occasion does 1 good pass at the very most.

It's just not good enough. He's got a great striker/strikers to play off. Rapid wingers and solid players behind him.

Yes the team is still gelling but it just simply is not good enough. Players either have it or not. And I don't see anything in this guy that shows it at the minute.

Get a full fit Dempsey in that role pronto please.

Not sure I agree we have 'great' striker(s), but beyond that this sounds about right.

He must have shown something at some point to get the reputation he had at Posh. And he hit double figures for them in 23/24.

But for a million quid we need a lot better than 'does a half decent job cutting off passing lanes when the opposition have the ball'.

Randall really lacks confidence to run forward with the ball and in most games, yesterday's included, never looks set to get a shot off. Runs about a lot and seems to be a quiet affable sort, that SS likes? But he's not robust and dynamic...

I’ve noticed that Randall does an awful lot of running but I think it’s ineffective as I don’t think there’s any intention of trying to win the ball, he almost runs away from the challenge. Either his anticipation is shite or he’s just a massive pussy but I honestly think he’s more happy covering space which is totally fucking pointless and allows the opposition to get out every single time.

Both him and mcatee need to be shipped out in January.

To me, we need to go two up top possibly at home and three in midfield away from home one up top. Christie in for Cogley when up to speed and Taylor in for Johnston and we might have a chance of winning a game or two on the spin.

I still don’t think we’ve managed to shake our soft centre and giving cheap goals away week after week isn’t good enough. TBF to Wimbledon last week, that free header early first half goes in and it’s a whole different story.

Yeah I mean the player that scores. He’s Cogley’s man but just ghosts in behind him. He makes a last ditch pointless effort to block it and then gets up throwing his hands about as if it’s someone else’s fault.

I’m genuinely not someone that has always got on his back, but with and without the ball he is really costing us this season.

Our Tallest Quickest defender was sat at home twiddling his fucking toenails

Yet we play a high line and concede stupid free kicks every game.

I'm thinking he has a slight knock that wasn't revealed.

Makes no sense otherwise. OK we had Toal, but he'd just been away on international duty.

I have to agree with this on the defence. Christie for Cogley seems a no brainer once Christie is up to fitness, and the bits I've seen of Taylor make me think he'd be good as the left centre back.

Johnston is just that bit too small and switches off.

On the number 10 role, unless Forss can do it I'd sack it off and use an extra midfielder like Sheehan. I really don't want to see Randall there chickening out of tackles against Wigan next week.

Totally agree with the defence changes for the 10 role I would prefare them to play 2 strikers from Dalby / burstow / forss .
it would give us more physicality and more of a threat from crosses . Non of the 10s we have can score regularly

Fantastic goal

And a significant involvement from sheehan

Get him on the pitch in the oppo half and things may suddenly look a lot brighter

I could never understand why Evatt tried all manner of folk in that most advanced midfield position but never Sheehan. Surprised SS, who I thought might have been a bit more open minded, also hasn't been minded yet to give it a looking at.

He is cleverer and more nimble with the ball in those tight areas round their box than anyone else we have, or have had over the last few years

Orient's goal........with Gale off getting treatment , we were a man light on the left, their player got in behind Burstow, no sign of left back Conway, pisspoor positional work from the keeper who somehow managed to let the cross go inside him & no centre halfs around to stop the tap in from a central position................but it was all right back Cogley's fault 😂😂😂

I'm a Sheehan fan & I wouldn't be against trying him there but I really think his position is linking play up with his passing & movement ( as in our goal ) & it's him or Morley there.........but i'm a bit surprised nobody has mentioned how lively & quick Forrss was yesterday in his brief run & he could be worth a try. He's also got goals in him.

What has Cogley actually done wrong this season?

Numerous weak tackles, needless fouls, passes backwards when he had an opportunity to go forward, and poor crosses.

His biggest asset is he never gets injured, but if we have a better option (and I think Christie will be better on e up to speed) we'd be silly not to swap to him

Add to this giving the ball away constantly. First half yesterday he gave the ball away on at least 5 separate occasions whilst under little pressure, basic stuff.

Same with Johnston, he can’t manage to head the ball to a white shirt, it’s either anywhere or out for a throw

Don’t get the Cogley bashing

I do think Johnston has struggled on a few occasions though

Aye agree he's the first to go for me is Johnston.

He’s just not playing well. I can’t understand why you’re not allowed to say that? Not all of our players are all great at the same time.

Cogley came in initially as a back up right wing back. He ended up first choice and I thought did really well. Up until the middle of last season I thought he was still playing relatively well and deserved his place. I actually thought he’d do even better as a right back in a back 4 because he wasn’t good enough to play the whole right wing on his own and would benefit from playing with a winger in front of him.

Back end of last season he was really poor, but weren’t they all. This season he’s worse. I’m not sure whether he’s out of form, no good as a right back as @ianofcleveleys reckons, or whether it’s a bit of MJ Williams factor of the rest of the team getting better and he’s being shown up as the weak link now.

Whatever it is, it surprises me that people are watching the games this season not thinking he’s been a bit shite. Things break down with him, teams target him, he doesn’t support ACD well, he’s positionally suspect, the fouls he gives away are fucking infuriating.

We brought Christie in last day of the window, Tutu has played right back ahead of him on multiple occasions and our centre mid was put there for the last half an hour on Saturday instead of him - I’d say they all point to the fact that SS isn’t too happy with him either.

Anyway, my view is he’s played really poorly this season and once Christie is fit he should be replacing him. Others might think he’s playing just fine. All opinions
